Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) comprises 38 Catholic schools with more then 19,000 students enrolled across the Illawarra, Macarthur, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands regions.

<p dir="ltr">The Catholic Diocese of Wollongong extends from the Macarthur in the north and Southern Highlands in the west, through the Illawarra and down to the Shoalhaven on the south coast of NSW. Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) comprises 38 Catholic schools with almost 20,000 students enrolled across the diocese.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">A permanent full time position commencing 27 January 2021. The position involves contributing to the implementation of the Vision and Strategic Direction of CEDoW as expressed in Lighting the Way. As part of the evolution of the communications team, the Communications Officer will support the Manager - Communications, Media Engagement &amp; Marketing in delivering the team’s communications and marketing strategies, in support of the diocese’s evangelising mission, particularly as expressed through Catholic education.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Supporting the delivery of the organisation’s communications, media engagement and marketing strategies.</li> <li dir="ltr">Developing and executing communications and marketing plans.</li> <li dir="ltr">Providing expert communications and marketing advice to schools and teams within the Catholic Education Office.</li> <li dir="ltr">Creating written and visual content for print and digital platforms.</li> <li dir="ltr">Ensuring the creative content and production quality of print and online materials are consistent with CEDoW identity, values, policies and corporate objectives.</li> <li dir="ltr">Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with media contacts and other community stakeholders.</li> <li dir="ltr">Preparing insight and analytic reports to track impact, market share, branding and sentiment analysis.</li> <li dir="ltr">Working as appropriate with schools, partner diocesan agencies, parishes and the community to deliver communications and marketing outcomes.</li> <li dir="ltr">Other reasonable duties as directed within the support and skill set consistent with the role.</li> </ul> <p>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">A personal commitment to the ethos, values and teaching principles of the Catholic Church.</li> <li dir="ltr">Qualifications in a communications related field such as media, communication, journalism, marketing, public policy or a similar discipline.</li> <li dir="ltr">Relevant communications and marketing experience in a similar role.</li> <li dir="ltr">Research and analytical skills, with a related capacity to provide sound advice, options and strategic solutions.</li> <li dir="ltr">Excellent interpersonal, relational and networking skills and a capacity to liaise concurrently with multiple stakeholders.</li> <li dir="ltr">An ability to work independently and as part of a team or project group.</li> <li dir="ltr">Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li dir="ltr">Experience in proofreading, editing and quality content creation.</li> <li dir="ltr">Attention to detail.</li> <li dir="ltr">The ability to manage a complex workload.</li> <li dir="ltr">A familiarity with the education sector or experience working in an education setting is highly desirable.</li> </ul> <p>EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Applicants must hold a valid NSW Drivers Licence.</li> <li dir="ltr">Due to the nature of the role, out-of-hours work may be required on occasion.</li> </ul> <p>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</p> <p>This role is classified as a child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.</p> <p>POSITION APPLICATION</p> <p>To submit your application please select the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of this advertisement.</p> <p>To confidentially discuss your application, please contact Matt Baxter, Manager – Communications, Media Engagement and Marketing on 0411 729 433.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Closing date: 4 December 2020 at 5pm</strong></p>
