With 150 schools, more than 70,000 students, and around 10,000 staff, we are a thriving community of communities.<br> <br> The role of the Education Officer: Assessment and Curriculum K-12 role focuses on promoting a pre-post approach to research-based strategies for linking assessment to improved instructional practice.<br> <br><strong>The role</strong><br> <br> Reporting to the Supervisor: Pre to Post Learning, you will be a well-experienced teacher with demonstrated success in improving student outcomes.<br> <br> The Education Officer: Assessment and Curriculum K-12 is responsible for implementing practices to support the understanding of how teacher moderation can align curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and reporting.<br> <br> With a strong focus on collaboration, you will co-construct with schools the Principles and attributes of quality assessment and curriculum, and work with:<br> </p> <ul> <li>The wider Education and Research directorate to ensure all programs contribute to a deeper understanding of quality assessment and teaching and learning.</li> <li>Data analysts to understand the nature of quality assessment, with a particular focus in stage 6.</li> </ul> <p><strong>The Person</strong><br> <br> To be successful in this position, you will possess:<br> </p> <ul> <li>University Degree in Education or Teaching.</li> <li>Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in a school.</li> <li>Experienced in leading staff in professional learning.</li> <li>Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes.</li> <li>Demonstrated success in implementing school-wide initiatives.</li> <li>Experienced in using data analysis to inform educational initiatives.</li> <li>The ability to articulate contemporary educational trends in both local and international contexts.</li> <li>High order written, oral and presentation skills.</li> <li>Valid Working With Children Check clearance (WWC) number.</li> <li>Willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.</li> <li>Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Role Description</li> </ul> <p><strong>The Process</strong><br> <br> Submit your application by clicking on "Apply for job" at the top of the page.<br> <br> To support your application you will be required to provide:<br> </p> <ul> <li>Your current resume</li> <li>Cover letter addressing your suitability for the position</li> </ul> <p><strong>Closing Date</strong>: Wednesday, 11 November 2020 at 11.59 pm<br> <br> <strong>Enquiries:</strong> Please contact Recruitment, referencing the position title by email <a href="mailto:hr.recruitment@syd.catholic.edu.au">hr.recruitment@syd.catholic.edu.au</a><br> <br> If you encounter technical issues please contact the People &amp; Culture Services team on (02) 9569 6111 (Mon-Fri).<br> <br> <strong>Please note:</strong> This is a child-related position and a Working with Children Check is a prerequisite for anyone in child-related work.
