<p><b>St Brigid’s Catholic College </b></p><p>St Brigid&#39;s is a college in the Diocese of Broken Bay. It opened its doors to Year 7 in 2014 and welcomes its second HSC cohort in 2020. </p><p>At St Brigid’s, we are committed to contemporary teaching and learning in a technology-rich environment. We teach in teams in dynamic learning spaces, using a range of pedagogical practices. </p><p>At the heart of our approach to wellbeing is restorative practice. Our goal is to ensure students feel safe and supported in an environment that challenges them to be the very best person they can be, living life as a disciple of Jesus and making a difference in the world. </p><p>The role of a classroom teacher at St Brigid’s is collaborative; working together with other teachers in teaching teams with a shared belief that collectively they can positively impact on the learning of students. </p><p><b><u>SPECIFIC CRITERIA </u></b></p><ul><li>Commitment to the Catholic ethos of the college </li><li>Passion for working with young people </li><li>Knowledge of and demonstrated experience teaching Years 7 - 12 TAS courses </li><li>The ability to work with other teachers in teaching teams </li><li>Agile, responsive, flexible and collaborative practitioner </li><li>Strong organisational and interpersonal skills </li><li>Capacity to create a motivating and engaging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all learners through varied teaching strategies and evidence-based pedagogical practices </li><li>Understanding of the Understanding by Design framework </li><li>Understanding of, and commitment to, a restorative practice approach to student wellbeing </li><li>A willingness to be involved in the extracurricular life of the College </li><li>The ability to teach Religious Education is an advantage </li></ul><p>Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4-year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese. </p><p>All applicants for teaching positions must complete a Teacher Application Form (available on our website) and include a letter addressing the essential/specific criteria for the position.
