This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Primary leader, who as Schools Consultant promotes the vision and mission of Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst through Religious, Educational and Enabling Leadership.

This significant leadership position is ideally suited to a Catholic leader who is:</b></p><p><b><br /></b></p><ul><li><i>A committed, practicing Catholic, who actively promotes the Vision and Mission of Catholic education in the Diocese </i></li><li><i>A contemporary leader, who contributes to the continuing improvement of quality teaching and learning in schools </i></li><li><i>An outstanding communicator, who fosters a cohesive Diocesan School System and strong sense of partnership </i></li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Living and working in Bathurst </b></p><p> </p><p>The Diocese of Bathurst covers a large area of rural NSW extending from Bathurst, south to Oberon and Cowra, north to Coonamble; and west to Cowra and Eugowra; with major rural centres including Lithgow, Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo. </p><p> </p><p>Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst (CEDB) includes a diverse range of schools, from primary schools in small rural communities to large secondary schools. CEDB provides support to 26 primary, two K–12, one K-10 and four secondary schools. In partnership with parents and parishes, their schools are committed to fostering Gospel values, academic excellence and life-long service in a faith-centred community. </p><p> </p><p>With over 9,000 students and employing more than 1,200 staff, the Diocese has a significant footprint in rural NSW. </p><p> </p><p>Set only 2hrs from Penrith and 2 1/2hrs from the Sydney CBD, this position offers an excellent tree-change opportunity for an experienced school leader, whilst still keeping relative proximity to Sydney. </p><p> </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Position Overview  </b></p><p> </p><p>The position of Schools Consultant (Primary) exists to support schools to build and maintain a quality Catholic educational environment focused on high levels of learning and teaching. This is achieved through:   </p><ul><li>Implementation of the Diocesan Strategic Improvement Plan </li><li>Building capacity for school improvement including supporting the implementation of the Diocesan Quality Catholic Education Framework </li><li>Supporting and enhancing the leadership of Principals and School Leadership Teams </li><li>Conducting School Reviews with a strategic intent.</li><li>Implementation of System processes to enhance Catholic Identity and quality teaching and learning </li><li>Enabling the link between Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst and school communities in a timely and appropriate manner.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>The three key areas of accountability include:    </p><ul><li>Religious Leadership </li><li>Educational Leadership </li><li>Enabling Leadership </li></ul><p>   </p><p>The Schools Consultant (Primary) ensures that collaboration and stewardship underpins the leadership and management of the System of Schools, recognising the complementary roles of pastors, principals, parents and teachers in the ministry of Catholic education. </p><p>  </p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p><b>Selection Criteria </b></p><p>Full selection criteria is available by requesting an Applicant Information Pack, however key areas that the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate include: </p><ul><li>A personal commitment to the teachings and practice of the Catholic Faith </li><li>A career in education, with a record of strong success as a Primary School Principal, preferably in more than one educational setting </li><li>A passion for education and a strong understanding of contemporary educational issues </li></ul><p> </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Commencement  </b></p><p>Beginning in anticipation for the start of the new academic year 2021, the initial appointment is for 3 years.
