Role Description St Peter’s Primary School, Epping is seeking an Intervention Teacher to work with students in Literacy and Numeracy. The position is .6 and the work days can be negotiated to be over 3 or 4 days. Suitable applicants should address the role description when applying in writing for the role. Literacy and Numeracy: Teacher Intervention Role To provide strategies for teaching and supporting students Literacy and Numeracy Work in partnership with the Learning Diversity and Intervention Leader to target students requiring intervention It is an expectation that the Literacy and Numeracy Intervention Teacher will work with intervention focused student groups Collaborate with teachers individually, to identify the Literacy and Numeracy needs of students, and work with teachers and students to develop best practices for continuous academic growth of students in literacy and numeracy Review student achievement with teachers and assist with placing students in appropriate Literacy and Numeracy intervention groups. (classroom or small group intervention) Meet regularly with the Classroom Teacher / Intervention Leader to plan explicit teaching lessons to meet individual student’s needs or as requested by the classroom teacher Administer tests to inform school of student growth when a concern arises Work in the classroom with classes with explicit student instructional groups Maintain and submit accurate and up-to-date management records of all students’ progress To administer literacy assessment tools as required, including; Sutherland Phonological Awareness Test (SPAT), CELF 4 screening test, York Assessment of Reading Comprehension(YARC) and Benchmark Assessment (BAS) as directed by our literacy assessment schedule Attend PSG meetings when requested by the Learning Diversity Leader
