Our goal is to produce citizens who are articulate and confident young people with a social conscience, who can contribute to society and lead with compassion for others as they live a thriving and meaningful life.<br /><br /><b>About the role</b><br /><br />The Deputy Head of Junior School role at St John&#39;s Grammar School is a key member of our leadership team who works closely with our Head of Junior School to provide an innovative learning experience for our students that encourages each student to reach their full, individual potential. The Deputy Head will have the opportunity to build deep relationships with our students with a 0.4 teaching component.<br /><br />In the leadership capacity, the Deputy role has a focus on:<br /><br />   - pastoral care and wellbeing leadership<br />   - operational leadership, and<br />   - coordination of professional learning for staff in the Junior School<br /><br /><b>Skills and experience</b><br /><br />We are seeking an educator who possesses an exceptional teaching record with the ability to inspire and lead both students and staff. The successful candidate will have experience in operational leadership in a Junior School context, and in leading wellbeing and pastoral care initiatives. They will have the ability to build a connected community and positive culture with our students and families as well all St John&#39;s colleagues. <br /><br />Please note that this is a 5 year contract position and will commence Term 1, 2021. <br /></p>
