<p><b>Key Duties </b></p><p>The Registered Nurse supports the College environment through: - </p><p>• Working as the first point of contact for unwell students during the College day, assessing symptoms and contacting parents within College protocols </p><p>• Providing training for College staff to support children with healthcare needs </p><p>• Contributing to communicable disease control within the College </p><p>• Providing First Aid to students and staff of the College and maintaining a First Aid Register </p><p>• Communicating effectively with students, parents, and College staff </p><p>The successful candidate will have: </p><p><b>Essential Criteria </b></p><p>• Appropriate qualifications as a Registered Nurse </p><p>• Knowledge of Australian health requirements including immunisation </p><p>• Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate well to young people </p><p>• Ability to stay calm in an emergency and multitask, and maintain confidentiality </p><p>• Excellent clinical assessment skills in managing emergency &amp; daily student medical needs </p><p>• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within the Student Centre </p><p>• Competent computer skills, including the ability to learn and adapt to different data management systems and enter student health data with precision </p><p>• Current Advanced First Aid certificate and Anaphylaxis &amp; Asthma Training </p><p>• Current Working with Children and AHPRA registration </p><p>• Capacity to actively support the life, Catholic mission, and Mercy values of the College </p><p><b>Desirable Criteria </b></p><p>• Minimum five (5) years post graduate experience </p><p>Applicants should forward the Non-Teaching Application Form, Resume, and brief Covering Letter by 4pm, Wednesday 23rd September 2020 via email to: </p><p><br /></p><p>The Principal </p><p>Our Lady of Mercy College Parramatta </p><p> recruitment&#64;olmc.nsw.edu.au </p><p><br /></p>
