At the heart of all we do are our core values of empathy, curiosity, excellence, collaboration and truth. </i></p><p><b><u>INSTRUCTIONAL SPECIALIST</u></b> </p><p>619 Students <br /></p><p> </p><p><b>Commencement Date:</b> 27th January 2021 </p><p> </p><p><b>Closing Date:</b> 8th October 2020 </p><p> </p><ul><li>Are you a self-motivated and innovative educator? </li><li>Can you provide instructional strategies to influence change in teaching practices? </li><li>Are you energised by creating experiences that challenge schools, students, teachers and parents? </li></ul><p>The Instructional Specialist role is a 0.5FTE classroom teacher performing at the level of an exemplary classroom practitioner and a 0.5FTE role within the school, modelling classroom practitioner excellence, improving learning outcomes and bringing about change in the instruction of teachers K-6. The <i>Instructional Specialist</i> is a member of the school leadership team .</p><p> The <i>Instructional Specialist</i> is required to perform tasks which include but are not limited to: </p><ul><li> Strong teaching capability proven through meeting all aspects of the proficient teacher in the Australian Professional Standards and operating at the level of a highly accomplished / lead teacher in accordance with the NESA teaching standards (although they may not formally hold this accreditation). </li><li>Demonstrating exemplary teaching practice in their own classroom. </li><li>Setting standards, building teacher capacity (with extra focus on early career teachers) and supporting school-wide improvement. </li><li>Supporting and demonstrating high impact teaching strategies (HITS) used by teachers to craft lessons that provide the right amount of support and challenge for every student. </li><li>Understanding and implementing high quality, evidence-based instruction that meets students&#39; needs within their zone of proximal learning development.</li><li>Developing clear SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-based) goals. </li><li>Coaching, mentoring and modelling excellent teaching practice to peer teachers. </li><li>Analysing data and trends within the school and identifying areas for growth. </li><li>Strong capabilities to lead adult learning (including emotional intelligence). </li><li>Developing future <i>Instructional Specialists</i>.  </li></ul><p>Please click on <b>Role Description</b> below to read details of this position.</p><p>Please send your application to <a href="mailto:glenda.butler&#64;syd.catholic.edu.au" rel="nofollow">glenda.butler&#64;syd.catholic.edu.au</a> </p><p>Applicants should submit a clearly set out electronic single page covering letter and brief curriculum vitae.
