The Leader of Wellbeing will provide significant pastoral and academic leadership within the College with the responsibility of a specific Year Group. The Leader of Wellbeing works as part of the Middle Leadership Team and the team of teachers responsible for the teaching in the Year Group.

<p><b>Two Full-Time Contract Positions Commencing 2021</b><br /></p><p> </p><p><b>The contract of employment has an initial term of three years and a second renewed term of a further three years. Extension of the initial term is dependent upon a successful review of performance in relation to the defined responsibilities. </b></p><p> </p><p><b>In accordance with CECWA Policy, Appointment of Staff in Catholic Schools, should the incumbent be unsuccessful in obtaining a similar position at Newman College or any other Catholic school at the end of tenure then he/she shall have security of employment as a teacher at Newman College. </b></p><p> </p><p>The Leader of Wellbeing will provide significant pastoral and academic leadership within the College. The primary responsibilities of this role will include the coordination of a specific Year Group (7 – 12) and the development and maintenance across the College Community of a shared understanding of, and commitment to, the enhancement of student wellbeing. The Leader of Wellbeing understands wellbeing as both central to learning and an outcome of learning. </p><p> </p><p>The Leader of Wellbeing works as part of the Middle Leadership Team and the team of teachers responsible for the teaching in the Year Group. In addition to leadership and administrative duties the Leader of Wellbeing will have a classroom teaching role. </p><p> </p><p><b>Essential Criteria: </b></p><ul><li>A capacity to develop the Catholic Identity in the life and Mission of the Catholic Church. </li><li>A capacity to develop the educational vision of the College. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead contemporary learning and teaching in a safe and growth-promoting environment. </li><li>Ability to demonstrate, and develop in others, effective interpersonal skills. </li><li>A capacity to contribute actively to change for the future, work strategically, influence policy and identify contemporary approaches to wellbeing. </li><li>An astute understanding of change processes and stewardship of College resources. </li><li>An ability to contribute to the development and maintenance of a College culture characterised by the safety of all, collaboration, consultation and engagement within and external to the College Community. </li><li>Proven ability in managing a diverse range of stakeholder relationships. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to promote a collaborative effort among staff and a willingness to work with all staff to improve student learning outcomes. </li></ul><p> </p><p><b>A Role Description for this position accompanies these position criteria. </b></p><p> Your application must include: </p><ul><li><b> Cover Letter:</b> State why you are applying for the position and detail your most relevant qualifications and experiences.
