A Co-educational Catholic High School serving the Shoalhaven area with an enrolment of approximately 961 pupils. St John’s is just 1 hour south of Wollongong.

<p><em>St John the Evangelist Catholic High School, Nowra is a co-educational Catholic high school. Recognised as a centre of excellence in learning and pastoral care, St John’s has a strong focus on student growth in learning and building peaceful just relationships. The school draws students from Berry in the north to as far south as Ulladulla. With a student population of approximately 960 students, the school is located just one hour drive south of Wollongong.</em></p> <p>A temporary full time position commencing <span style="color: #000000">27 January 2021 until 17 December 2021.</span>&nbsp;The successful applicant will be required to teach Human Society and It's Environment. The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.</li> <li>Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.</li> <li>Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.</li> <li>Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in Human Society and It's Environment.</li> <li>Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.</li> <li>Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.</li> </ul> <p>DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul> <li>Ability to teach Religious Education an advantage.</li> <li>Accredited Level D to teach Religious Education in accordance with ‘To Work, Teach and Lead’ policy or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW</li> </ul> <p>GENERAL CAPABILITIES</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Well-developed interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills.</li> <li>Strong organisational skills.</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li> </ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Human Society and It's Environment</li> <li>Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment&nbsp; with CEDoW.</li> <li>The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.</li> </ul> <p>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</p> <p>This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.</p> <p>POSITION APPLICATION&nbsp;</p> <p>Applicants are to complete an online application which asks to briefly address the essential criteria (equivalent to 2-3 pages) and submit a short CV (2-3 pages).</p> <p>To submit your Application please select the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of this advertisement.</p> <p><strong>Closing date: 25 September 2020 at 9am</strong></p>
