A reputable Pathways education provider located in the heart of Melbourne CBD is currently seeking educators with experience teaching international students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) who are specialised in curriculum writing to join the Foundation Studies Curriculum Review Team. This is a full-time fixed-term role, (applications for part-time will be considered) to commence immediately until April 2021. Salary is $106K plus 9.5% super and other employee benefits.

<p><b>About the role </b></p><p>As the Curriculum Lead (STEM) – Foundation Studies, you will design, develop, and review new and existing studies in Foundation Studies which prepare international students for the College of Science, Engineering and Health. You will be responsible for developing high-quality, student-centred teaching and learning activities that are aligned to program outcomes and integrate technology. </p><p><b>As the Curriculum Lead (STEM) – Foundation Studies you will: </b></p><ul><li>Work with the Deputy Director, Foundation Studies – Quality, Curriculum and Assessment to implement updates and changes to existing Foundation Studies curriculum, providing adequate benchmarking to an Australian senior secondary curriculum. </li><li>Undertake analysis, design and review of course structures within a discipline including and evaluation of learning activities and resources. </li><li>Consult with individuals or small groups of relevant stakeholders on teaching and learning issues in a confident and collegial manner. </li><li>Speak authoritatively, in context of your discipline, justifying any decisions made as a result of consultation. </li><li>Support the Deputy Director; Curriculum, Assessment and Quality (Foundation Studies) to lead curriculum development and course design within a discipline. </li><li>Participate in curriculum design meetings, documenting decisions, researching resources, and communicating updates. </li><li>Work with the Foundation Studies Curriculum Review team to design new cross disciplinary courses to the curriculum. </li><li>Produce materials using appropriate technology solutions including course guides and where needed, develop educational podcasts, videos and other formatted content. </li><li>Design, create, and deliver high-quality and authentic assessments and corresponding rubrics. </li></ul><p><b>To be successful in this role you will have: </b></p><ul><li>Four years teaching qualification which may include: Four year Bachelor of Education; or a three year Bachelor degree in relevant discipline plus a Post Graduate qualification in Education. </li><li>Minimum of 2 years relevant teaching experience including breadth of experience in delivering to students from non-English speaking backgrounds. </li><li>Experience in the design of student-centred learning experiences and curriculum writing experience for a Foundation Year and / or Australian year 12 senior secondary curriculum </li><li>Experience in supporting the learning of young people, particularly those from diverse cultural backgrounds </li><li>Excellent knowledge of the senior secondary / pathway programs in Australia </li><li>Understanding and considerable knowledge of quality feedback and assessment methods </li><li>Proven experience in developing resources to support rich learning experiences </li><li>Ability to use Learning Management Systems (e.g. Canvas) and a critical eye for reviewing online learning spaces through a student experience perspective. </li><li>Demonstrated capacity for pedagogical leadership, consistent with contemporary research and good practice in learning and teaching </li><li>A high standard of interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate with a broad range of people in a cross-cultural academic context </li><li>Current Working with Children Check or VIT Registration</li></ul><p>Submit your application <b>(including your resume and a one-page cover letter outlining your suitability for the role)</b> by clicking ‘Apply for Job’. <br /></p>
