A reputable Pathways education provider located in the heart of Melbourne CBD is currently seeking a Team Leader to support the October 2020 intake of Business and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) Foundation Studies students. This is a full-time fixed-term role to commence immediately until 30 July 2021. Salary is $106K plus 9.5% super and other employee benefits.

<p>The Team Leader&#39;s role is to work with a small group of Foundation Studies Teachers to deliver a curriculum that engages and encourages students to become active participants in their learning. Team Leaders are proactive in recognising the needs of students at risk, identifying effective intervention strategies and supporting Foundation Studies Teachers in implementing these strategies. Team Leaders actively support the operational needs of the overall Foundation Studies program. </p><p><b>As a Team Leader you will be required to:</b></p><ul><li>Support Foundation Studies Teachers and program delivery  </li><li>In consultation with the Deputy Director or Executive Director: Lead the design, development, delivery and evaluation of innovative, customised, high-quality education responses for identified students; Assist with the management of recruitment and selection of staff</li><li>Take a leading role in workload planning and allocation for all teachers </li><li>Assist with the management of the induction process </li><li>Provide support and mentoring to team </li><li>Assist staff to identify professional development opportunities </li><li>Provide staff coaching and counselling </li><li>Examine and make recommendations on alternative flexible delivery strategies </li><li>Provide advise on continuous improvements to systems such as records management, administrative policies and procedures</li></ul><p><b>Judgement, Problem Solving, Accountability and Extent of Authority</b><br /></p><p> </p><ul><li>Well-developed problem-solving skills </li><li>Assist with the management of resources and a team of staff providing services to students </li><li>Assist with the management of a functional or specialist area of delivery </li><li>Ability to lead and manage teaching programs </li><li>Operate within a degree of operational autonomy  </li><li>Provide necessary resources for program maintenance and development </li><li>Provide advice to management on costing and resourcing implications of proposed programs </li><li>Advise on cost-effective delivery strategies  </li><li>Coordinate staffing and resources within a discipline area </li></ul><p><b>Organisational Relationships and Impact </b></p><p> </p><ul><li>Play an active role in establishing and enhancing links with the University to improve student outcomes </li><li>Enable the efficient integration of delivery strategies across the Foundation Studies program </li></ul><p><b>To be successful in this role you will have: </b></p><p> </p><ul><li>A recognised degree relevant to the course being taught plus a formal postgraduate qualification in the delivery of education </li><li>Minimum of 2 years relevant teaching experience including experience in delivering to students from non-English speaking backgrounds </li><li>TESOL (English Language Teaching Qualification) will be highly regarded </li><li>Current Working with Children Check or VIT registration </li><li>Considerable experience teaching Foundation Studies or equivalent in a University setting </li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead, support and advise teachers </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Well-developed administrative and organisational skills </li><li>Sensitivity to the needs of students of non-English speaking background </li><li>Demonstrated capacity to work independently as well as to initiate, form and lead cohesive teams </li><li>Excellent digital literacy skills </li><li>Experience in a position of responsibility in Foundation Studies or equivalent in a Secondary school or University setting (desirable) </li></ul><p>Submit your application <b>(including your resume and a one-page cover letter outlining your suitability for the role)</b> by clicking ‘Apply for Job’. <br /></p>
