Good Shepherd College is seeking a dynamic and innovative Agricultural teacher to support the extensive agricultural program of the college. While the Agricultural teacher role is two days a week, there is scope to take on additional classes for a more full time role if desired.

<p>Located on a 100 ha working farm, the position has a number of support elements to manage workload, including a Farm Manager, an Agricultural teacher aide for all classes and a dedicated group of retired farmers. Class sizes are 10-15 students. The college specialises in Murray Grey cattle, Poll Dorset sheep and Australorp show chickens, as well as running a number of innovative enterprises such as aquaponics and field trials for the Department of Agriculture and local Ag groups. Extensive infrastructure includes a specialised Ag classroom, undercover cattle and sheep yards, a shade and glass house for propagation and a large selection of raised garden beds. Small enterprise paddocks, an onsite bore and dam, together with an orchard, provide additional opportunities for students. The role would also include supporting our Ag Club students as a co-curricular activity, requiring some lunch time and weekend work for regional shows at Wodonga, Melbourne and Hamilton.</p>
