</h4><p>The Catholic Education Community – Diocese of Cairns, is a partnership between Catholic Education Services and twenty-nine schools. There are nineteen primary schools, 2 Prep to Year 12 College, and six secondary Colleges. The 29th school is a Special Assistance School with campuses in Cairns and Cooktown, catering for disengaged young people in Years 7-12. Two new schools opened in 2016 in Weipa (P-6) and Mt Peter (P-12).
</p><h4>Purpose of the Role</h4><p>The successful candidate will join the Senior Years sector, Business Department. The staff are highly experienced and teach a range of subjects within the Senior Years. St Andrew’s operates a one week timetable (8 periods per day – 40 minutes per period). The successful candidate will be experienced in teaching Business/Accounting Year 10 to Year 12.
</p><p>The successful candidate’s main teaching focus will be Business/Accounting in our Senior Years with the possibility of teaching in the Middle Years sector. The successful candidate will also support our St Andrew’s Catholic ethos and contribute to the wider life of the school. </p><h5>As a Teacher you will: </h5><ul><li>Plan, prepare and deliver effective learning and teaching programs
</li><li>Contribute to the development and implementation of the school objectives and school planning
</li><li>Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive school environment </li></ul><p>Teachers are accountable to and under the direction of the school Principal or delegate.</p><h4>Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements</h4><ul><li>Professional qualifications in Education
</li><li>Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers
</li><li>Willingness to achieve Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School and Accreditation to Teach Religion in a Catholic School (Teachers of Religious Education)
</li><li>Willingness to support and participate in the prayer, liturgy and sacramental life of the Church in the school community
</li><li>Promote child safety at all times
</li><li>Capacity to understand and implement Duty of Care and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
</li><li>Current drivers licence
