Rivergum is a small, growing regional College seeking experienced teachers for our primary area in 2021.

<h4>Position Overview </h4><p>2 x Primary Teachers 2021 - year levels to be determined based on applicants<br />The roles are  1.0 FTE with above-award remuneration based on qualifications and experience.  <br />Accountable to the Head of Primary, Teaching &amp; Learning and the Principal. </p><h4>About Us </h4><p>Rivergum Christian College is a small but growing F-12 school in South Australia&#39;s Riverland region, east north east of Adelaide. We are the Riverland’s only independent, non-denominational Christian school with combined primary and secondary students. Our enrolment numbers around 100 students, with approx. 20 staff. Staff members are expected to actively support the Christian aims of the College. </p><p>We are part of the Christian Education National (CEN) network and the AISSA (Association of Independent Schools South Australia). </p><p>We approach education from a transformational viewpoint, desiring to support students by engaging in structured but diverse learning programs to build their capabilities. This is supplemented with strong accountability and responsibility in learning. We also appreciate the diverse range of learning styles among our students and want to encourage this individual thought and expression. </p><p>In the last five years, we have expanded from a primary years-only school into a full F-12 College, the only one of its kind within 200km. We are a ‘parent-controlled’ school governed by a Board who is elected from our Association membership who represent a range of Christian denominations. We expect our staff to personally uphold these values while recognising and purposely fostering them in our students. <p></p><h4>Role Description </h4><p>We are seeking two Primary teachers who are eager to engage with students, celebrate their strengths and scaffold their learning from a Christian worldview. </p><h5>In part, this role entails: </h5><p>• the planning and delivery of Biblical perspectives integrated in your subject area, plus daily devotions/pastoral care time <br />• the planning and delivery of learning experiences that nurture students’ growth and development <br />• catering for the various learning styles and academic needs of individual students <br />• working closely with other educators and support staff <br />• an ability to work with teams, including the Primary Education team and the wider staff group, including attending regular meetings <br />• creating flexible environments that support student learning, enabling them to gain knowledge, reflect, engage, discover and explore God’s world <br />• ensuring that the classroom is a place of respect and safety <br />• establishing and building good rapport with students to support student welfare and wellbeing <br />• supporting the College’s behaviour management strategy <br />• maintaining accurate records on student progress from which to produce reports <br />• communicating and liaising with parents, including reporting, meetings, parent-student-teacher interviews and other informal means <br />• preparing for and attending parent information evenings, school events such as presentation nights, concerts, sporting programs, camps and other board/staff functions as arranged </p><p>We also encourage and promote professional learning activities, including the completion of a Certificate of Christian Education, attending various conferences, workshops, training days, and making use of the College’s subscription to the Teacher Learning Network. </p><p>Staff at Rivergum maintain a personal relationship with God, pray for one another and students, lead staff devotions and take part in chapel services. Participation in surveys, appraisals and performance management processes is standard. </p><p>You will be working under the guidance and management of our Head of Primary, Teaching &amp; Learning, with support from the Principal. You will receive training on the programs used (for example Jolly Learning, Targeting Maths) along with allocated in-class ESO support. </p><h4>Position Requirements </h4><p>The quality teacher we are looking for will be: <br />• a Christian actively involved in the Christian church <br />• dynamic, flexible and able to work collaboratively <br />• able to teach creatively and &#39;outside the box&#39; <br />• able to empower students and encourage them on their learning journey <br />• keen to work in partnership with families <br />• willing to embrace and implement a student-centred, transformational methodology while promoting accountability and appropriate assessment standards <br />• part of a small, dedicated staff team with a servant attitude <br />• understanding and supportive of our transformational discipline approach. <br /><br /><b>It is expected that applicants will: </b><b><br /></b>• hold a tertiary qualification in Education <br />• be currently [or imminently] registered with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia <br />• be experienced in the delivery of the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) <br />• hold a current First Aid certificate (including CPR, asthma &amp; anaphylaxis management) <br />• have well-developed interpersonal skills <br />• be proficient in ICT, preferably Office365 </p><p>Candidates will be short-listed for in-person panel interviews and some may be asked to complete a paid TRT day later in Term 4 to assist in finalising the application process. </p><p>If you feel that this describes you and your passion for educating young people, then we encourage you to apply for this position. </p><h5>Job start date: Monday 18 January 2021 </h5><p>To find out more about our school, peruse our website or enquire through College admin on 08 8583 2304 or applications&#64;rivergum.sa.edu.au. </p><p><br /></p>
