<p>CAPTIVATE, the performing arts unit of Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta is seeking qualified dance teachers to cover 2 maternity leave positions. The successful candidates must have experience in choreographing and teaching in both contemporary and commercial styles of dance to primary and secondary students.<br><br>You must have a teaching degree with NESA accreditation, experience in teaching HSC Dance and a willingness to deliver Dance VET courses.<br><br>These positions include team teaching, collaboration across genres (music, dance and drama) for specific works, whilst also being able to drive dance initiatives within schools as part of the wider CAPTIVATE program.<br><br>It would be beneficial for applicants to provide a video sample of their choreography in the relevant style(s) as well as a video of themselves dancing a short routine in their choice of style. This does not need to be a professional performance.<br><br>The 2 positions are currently 0.8FTE for terms 1, 2 and 3 in 2021. There is flexibility for these positions to be a combination of a full time and 0.6FTE depending on the successful applicants. Please indicate on your application which you would prefer.</p> <p>The Specialist Teacher CAPTIVATE is accountable for:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Contribution to the leadership, design and delivery of student learning opportunities through school-based programs which model professional arts practice and link students to industry.</li> <li dir="ltr">Contribution to the leadership, design and delivery of professional learning with a focus on building teacher capacity to engage students in deep learning through the arts.</li> <li dir="ltr">Implementation of System Learning priorities and initiatives in the alignment of the CAPTIVATE program with deep learning classroom based activities, experiences and rich and open tasks through learning scaffolds in the arts.</li> <li dir="ltr">Application of specialist arts pedagogical and discipline knowledge to enrich, deepen and transfer learning in the arts to student learning outcomes exploring deep learning practices.</li> <li dir="ltr">Lead and develop ensemble programs and collaborate with school leadership teams, CAPA staff and classroom teachers to further enhance and develop creative and performing arts programs and practices in and beyond the classroom.</li> </ul> <p>Typical Experience and Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Tertiary qualifications in the relevant area of study</li> <li>Appropriate demonstrated experience</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">The Organisation</p> <p dir="ltr">Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This position involves working with children.
