St. Joseph's High School, Aberdeen, is seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Officer to join the team on a permanent full time basis. St Joseph’s High School is a co-educational, Year 7-12 school committed in partnership with the community to meeting the academic, social, physical and spiritual needs of its students. The Finance Officer will support the School Executive and Diocesan Finance Team in ensuring the complete, accurate and timely financial management of the school. The Finance Officer will be required to demonstrate analytical and strategic thinking, commitment to continuous improvement and strong attention to detail. Tasks can include but are not limited: <br>• administration of school fee accounts including preparation, distribution, collection and debtor analysis <br>• administration of accounts payable, account reconciliations and regulatory reporting <br>• preparation of financial reports and any required accountability statements <br>• work closely with the Principal in the preparation of budgets and financial management reports <br>• assisting in the coordination and training of other School Officers that may support the school financial processes <br>• working with Catholic Schools Office accounting staff in the implementation of Diocesan guidelines and processes to enhance financial practices. <br> <h3>Essential Criteria:</h3> <br> • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools. <br>• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite especially Microsoft Word and Excel; <br>• Excellent organisational and time management skills; <br>• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team <br>• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to manage several tasks concurrently <br>• The ability to work tolerant of an interrupted working environment <br>• Ability to foster and promote positive personal relationships with all stakeholders <br>• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy levels <br>• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including a pleasant telephone manner <br>• Analytical and strategic thinking skills and an ability to apply initiative <br>• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement <br>• Moderate level computer skills <br>• Certificate IV in Finance and/or Accounting or equivalent qualifications in Accounting/Finance <br>• Experience working in a school environment or a similar role <br>• A current First Aid certificate <br>• Paid Working With Children Check (WWCC) <br>• Willingness to comply with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy 2018, Category A: Accreditation to Work <br> <h3>Desirable Criteria:</h3> <br> <br> <h3>Renumeration:</h3> <br> Salary is in accordance with New South Wales &amp; Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2017. <br> <h3>Additional Info:</h3> <br> To apply: Please provide your resume and a cover letter addressing the selection criteria directly to Principal – Robert Holstein: robert.holstein@mn.catholic.edu.au Applications close: Wednesday 26 August 2020. 3pm *Please note, not adequately addressing the selection criteria may result in your application not being shortlisted* <br> <a href="https://www.mn.catholic.edu.au/employment/positions-vacant/job/9329/" target="_blank">More Information</a>
