Role: • To lead a committed team of professionals in the Science Department • To support and collaborate with the Leadership Team to implement the College Strategic and School Improvement Plans • To coordinate the development, maintenance and monitoring of programs and the delivery of curriculum and be cognisant of relevant changes in the National Curriculum • To lead the assessing and reporting of students in the Science Department • To create opportunities for all staff in the Department to contribute to and develop their professional expertise • To manage the faculty budget and the resourcing of the Science Department Essential Criteria: • An understanding and commitment to the Mission of the College • Appropriate qualifications for the teaching of all courses in Science to HSC level • Well-developed interpersonal and administrative skills with the ability to lead and work collegially with a team. • A strong commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy including the nature of assessment and differentiated learning • Ability to lead learning, foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment. • Ability to articulate a sound knowledge of current educational issues, research and best practice in the education of boys • Sound knowledge of AITSL teaching standards, NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs • A strong understanding of data benchmarks and ability to use these to enhance Learning and Teaching in the Science Department • The ability to give and receive constructive feedback and to negotiate and resolve conflict • A willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the College Our Privacy Policy details how we comply under the Privacy Act in the handling of personal information.
