The College is seeking a Key Learning Leader – English to commence in 2021 who is responsible for leading the development, implementation and review of all English programs from Years 7-12.

<p>St Bernard’s is a vibrant learning community providing holistic boys’ education with a strong focus on academic excellence. </p><p> </p><p>The College is seeking a Key Learning Leader – English to commence in 2021 who is responsible for leading the development, implementation and review of all English programs from Years 7-12. The Key Learning Leader is a member of the Curriculum Leadership Team (CLT) and will have an understanding of curriculum at all year levels. The main responsibilities of the position include: </p><p>Participating and contributing to the Curriculum Leadership Team that will meet on a regular basis with the Assistant Principal (Learning) and other KLA leaders. </p><ul><li>Collaborate with faculty staff to ensure course documentation is complete using online resource. </li><li>Convene and conduct meetings of the Faculty to lead the process of curriculum development and delivery. </li><li>Participate in and advise on the preparation of Courses of Study (content and processes) with Faculty members and endorse the final products and their distribution, after consultation and approval from the Assistant Principal (Learning). </li><li>Collaborate and advise on all aspects of assessment procedures and work requirements with Faculty members in keeping with College Curriculum guidelines (ensuring Victorian Curriculum, Australian National Curriculum and VCAA compliance) and endorse the final products after consultation with the Assistant Principal (Learning). </li><li>Work closely with the Assessment and Reporting Coordinator to monitor the accurate input of assessment tasks. </li><li>Ongoing management of allocated budget, including approval for spending and reporting of budget variances to the Assistant Principal (Learning) and the Business Manager. </li><li>Ensure that course descriptions conform to the curriculum policies and practices of the College, and that subject teachers teach within the guidelines of the course description. To this end regular audits should be conducted. </li><li>Responsibility for the appropriate reporting and assessment processes within the department based on College policy. </li><li>Other duties as outlined in the position description. </li></ul><p>The successful applicant will have a teaching qualification and demonstrate the following competencies: </p><p> </p><ul><li>Demonstrated understanding of the pastoral care needs of students in a Catholic secondary school for boys. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work with a team of teachers. </li><li>Experience and understanding of the major issues impacting upon the education of boys. </li><li>Experience in educational leadership and curriculum development in English. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to successfully develop innovative curricular and co-curricular initiatives that enhance educational outcomes for students. </li><li>Strong administration and organisational skills. </li></ul><p> </p><p><b>Applications to be submitted on the College website at www.sbc.vic.edu.au/about/employment.</b> Applications close 4pm, Friday 21 August 2020. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p><i>The College promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children and young people. </i></p><p> </p><p> </p><p><br /></p>
