This new position comes with a 0.5FTE time-release for the Instructional Specialist to lead, prepare and embed the role within the College’s vibrant learning culture. Following shortlisting and appointment, the role will commence in Term 1, 2021. </p><p>The successful Instructional Specialist will lead, prepare and embed this new role by working closely with the Leader of Learning &amp; Curriculum as well as selected staff members across KLA’s. The successful applicant, by choosing to expand and develop their professional career at Marist Sisters’ College Woolwich, will be expected to demonstrate:</p><ul><li>A proven capacity to teach both effectively and with innovation, thereby meeting all aspects of the proficient teacher in the Australian Professional Standards.</li><li>Teaching performance at the level of a highly accomplished/lead teacher in accordance with the NESA teaching standard (although you may not formally hold this accreditation).</li><li>Exemplary classroom teaching strategies and practice within their own KLA</li><li>A capacity to promote, set, and aim for higher teaching standards, build teacher capacity, with a focus on early career teachers, and support school-wide improvement.</li><li>Positive support for high impact teaching strategies (HITS) used by teachers to craft lessons that provide appropriate support and challenge for every student.</li><li>A passion for the calm implementation of high quality, evidence-based instruction which meets the needs of our students within their zone of proximal learning development and has clear SMART goals.</li><li>A willingness to act as coach or mentor and model excellent teaching practice to peer teachers.</li><li>Skills in interrogation and analysis of data and trends within the college to identify areas of future growth.</li><li>An interest and capacity to plan and lead adult learning.</li><li>An interest in developing future Instructional Specialists.
