<b>Religious Education Officer</b> role focuses on using education data to improve system outcomes and achieve excellence in Religious Education (RE) and curricular outcomes across schools and networks. </p><p> </p><p><b>Major Accountabilities </b></p><p> </p><p>The <b>Specialist: Religious Education Officer</b> is required to perform tasks which include but are not limited to: </p><p> </p><p>- Analysing school, system and network data to identify trends and issues and improve outcomes.</p><p> </p><p>- Managing a number of Network Religious Education Officers and their daily work toward setting and embedding and reviewing RE curriculum across the Archdiocese of Sydney.</p><p>- Working with Network Religious Education Officers to write positive and proactive blended learning modules, curriculum and resources for teachers to implement in classrooms in a manner which is contemporary and accessible to the broad spectrum of Catholic Students.</p><p> </p><p>- Ensuring that Network data is being effectively and critically analysed to inform education. </p><p> </p><p>- Being present in the networks by observing, liaising with and developing relevant contemporary strategies to support schools in improving student, staff and family church engagement. </p><p> </p><p>- Creating annual RE Tests for students based on current curriculum and testing standards, and managing the effective administration of the RE Tests in Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) and other participating catholic diocese across NSW, including but not limited to its rollout across schools, collection of results and data analysis of test participation and scoring, in conjunction with current NESA standards, educational practices and SCS policies.</p><p>- Contributing to a contemporary approach of faith engagement practices across SCS.</p><p> </p><p>- Undertaking statistical analysis utilising school and network data, demographics, and other key information to prepare reports on religious education student outcomes.</p><p>- Undertaking internal and external research into contemporary educational pedagogies, emerging educational theories and national and international trends in RE.</p><p> </p><p>- Effectively communicating research and data analysis in a clear, concise and meaningful way to a wide range of stakeholders and senior audiences, using a range of written, verbal and visual methods, and to publication standard. </p><p> </p><p>- Utilising research and data analysis to develop a range of professional learning modules, both online and face to face, teaching resources, policies and practices for schools and networks in RE. </p><p> </p><p>- Developing RE curricular materials including texts, tests and assessments, online sites, portals and engagement communities for the sharing of knowledge between school and network staff. </p><p> </p><p>- Promoting and implementing SCS mission and vision: To know and love Christ through learning and Thriving Catholic communities through excellent teaching and learning. </p><p> </p><p>- Promoting and abiding by SCS values of empathy, curiosity, excellence, collaboration and truth. </p><p> </p><p>- Undertaking any other duties as directed from time to time. </p><p> </p><p><b>Essential Criteria </b></p><p> </p><p>To be considered for this role, you will have the following experience, skills and knowledge: </p><p> </p><p>- Undergraduate degree in Education or Teaching or Religious Education or Theology or equivalent. </p><p> </p><p>- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in a school. </p><p> </p><p>-  Experienced in leading staff in professional learning. </p><p> </p><p>-  Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes. </p><p> </p><p>- Demonstrated success in implementing school-wide initiatives. </p><p> </p><p>- Experienced in using data analysis to inform educational initiatives. </p><p> </p><p>- The ability to articulate contemporary educational trends in both local and international contexts. </p><p> </p><p>- Demonstrated advanced written, oral and presentation skills. </p><p> </p><p>-  Ability to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools. </p><p> </p><p>- Valid Working With Children Check clearance (WWC) number. </p><p> </p><p>- Current driver&#39;s licence. </p><p> </p><p>- Is a Baptised Catholic with demonstrated evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community such as a parish or an established
