Full time contract position for 2020 - possibility of ongoing work in 2021 PDHPE Teacher for students with special needs

<p>ERSES has two exciting and innovative Special Schools: St Edmund’s College, Wahroonga (Secondary) and St Gabriel’s School, Castle Hill (Primary and Secondary) for students with a sensory disability and/or a mild to moderate intellectual disability, including physical disabilities, autism and communication difficulties. Each school offers small classes, excellent facilities and provides individualised NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA) education programs. The position will appeal to people who are passionate about their teaching, enjoy working collaboratively and who wish to be part of a caring, dynamic and innovative community. <br /></p><p>We are seeking applicants for the following position: <br /></p><p> PDHPE Teacher – Full time contract position for 2020 </p><p>Possibility of ongoing work in 2021  </p><p> <b>Essential Skills </b></p><p>• Qualifications and experience in teaching PDHPE;  </p><p>• Accredited at or working towards Proficient Level through NESA;  </p><p>• An ability to ensure the efficient day to day operation of the College Sport program and PDHPE KLA including planning, administration, organisation and communication of sporting and whole College events;  </p><p>• An ability to deliver engaging and differentiated PDHPE lessons;  </p><p>• Highly developed written and oral communication skills;  </p><p>• A current WWCC number;  </p><p>• Strong technology skills including the use of Interactive Whiteboards and iPads;  </p><p>• An ability to organise and direct teaching support staff.  </p><p> </p><p><b>Desirable Skills </b></p><p>• Commitment to the Catholic and Edmund Rice ethos of the College;  </p><p>• Knowledge of and commitment to the College’s Vision and Mission, Strategic Goals and the   EREA Charter Touchstones;  </p><p>• Experience in working with students with a range of disabilities, teaching Stages 4-6 Life Skills curriculum, overseeing Sports programs and PDHPE department, AUSTSWIM qualifications, and delivering blended learning;  </p><p>• Qualifications or study in the area of Special Education at Masters level;  </p><p>• Experience in teaching students with sensory needs such as hearing or vision impairment;  </p><p>• Holding a Light Rigid Licence or willingness to drive a 12-seater school van.  </p><p> </p><p>Applicants should hold high expectations for teaching students with special needs and be able to work collaboratively with colleagues. </p><p> For further enquiries and a role description, please contact: </p><p>Mr. Jason Scanlon – Deputy Principal, St Edmund’s College   </p><p>scanlon&#64;stedmunds.nsw.edu.au or (02) 9487 1044  </p><p> </p><p>Written applications and a curriculum vitae, with three nominated referees, should be forwarded in writing or email by Monday 17th August, 2020.  </p><p>  The Principal  </p><p>Mr Jon Franzin  </p><p>St Edmund’s College  </p><p>P.O.
