Applications are invited for the Learning Diversity Leader (LDL) position, commencing January 2021. This is a three-year designated POL 3 position (2021-2023), with ongoing employment status.
<p>St Mary’s is a Catholic College that has its origins in the vision of Catherine McAuley, the foundress of the Sisters of Mercy in Ireland (1831). In 1900 the Sisters were invited to Seymour and since that time Catholic education has served Seymour and district for over 135 years.
</p><p>St Mary’s provides a F-10 Catholic educational pathway within the Archdiocese of Melbourne led by Archbishop Peter Comensoli and Executive Director, Mr Jim Miles. </p><p>Applications for the Learning Diversity Leader (LDL) position, commencing January 2021, are invited from suitably qualified and experienced educators who have a passion for Catholic education. This is a three-year designated POL 3 position (2021-2023), with ongoing employment status. Following a review in the third year there is a possibility of reappointment to the role.
</p><p>The LDL models best practice and supports teachers in meeting the diverse learning needs of students through implementing and reviewing programs and processes to enrich student learning.
</p><p>The LDL leads explicit high standards for teaching students with diverse needs and is committed to best teaching practice and targeted learning for all students. He or she will work with the College leaders, teaching staff and Learning Support Officers providing advice and supporting the appropriate learning adjustments for all students including extending Gifted and Talented students.
</p><p>The LDL supports teachers to implement appropriate adjustments matched to student needs. The leader is responsible for managing practices and processes to gather and analyse student data to determine who meet the criteria for NCCD funding. The LDL provides leadership and guidance to the teachers and LSO’s to ensure they are able to directly influence the quality of learning and teaching for these students enabling them to achieve to their fullest potential.
</p><p>A prime responsibility of this leadership position is to enact the recommendations of the ‘2020 Learning Diversity Review Report’ and to support the 2021-2023 Strategic Intent ‘Improving Reading Outcomes for all Students’.
