We are a thriving, independent school set on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW with over 290 students from Early Kindergarten to Year 10. The Student Wellbeing Officer is responsible for assisting the school community to provide social and emotional support to students. We are looking for a qualified individual who is seeking to have an impact in the lives of young people and support their wellbeing. This is a part-time role within school terms only.

<p><b><u>Responsibilities include: </u></b></p><ul><li> Working closely with and/or as part of the school wellbeing team to deliver student resilience and wellbeing services </li><li>Providing students, their families and staff with support and or appropriate referrals in difficult situations such as during times of grief or when students are facing personal challenges </li><li>Organising one-on-one or group sessions with students, parents, and teachers </li><li>Participating in school activities such as sport, camps, gardens etc </li><li>Attending Parent Teacher meetings to provide information about the wellbeing support service </li><li>Maintaining relevant professional records and email communication </li><li>Communicating with support services </li><li>Providing reports to Principal/Deputy Principal/Wellbeing leader </li></ul><p><b><u> Key Selection Criteria: </u></b></p><ul><li> Minimum qualifications are Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent. Degree or diploma-qualified candidates in education, social work, psychology, welfare or youth work will be highly regarded. </li><li>Experience in working within a school setting or a child/youth support program </li><li>A demonstrated understanding of the challenges and practicalities involved in providing wellbeing support within a school community </li><li>An informed and evidence-based understanding of youth/child development and related wellbeing issues </li><li>A demonstrated ability to work both as a member of a team and independently </li><li>A demonstrated understanding of the operation of the school environment </li><li>A high standard of written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Positive and reliable work ethic </li></ul><p> Applicants must address the Key Selection Criteria, provide a professional resume and contact details of three referees who have worked in a supervisory capacity. All applicants must be willing to obtain a Police Check and hold a current Working with Children Check. </p><p><br /></p>
