Catherine McAuley Catholic College is seeking a permanent full time Leader of Learning with responsibility for Religion and Ministry to commence in Term 4, 2020. This position attracts an allowance at the level of Coordinator 2.

Catherine McAuley Catholic College has its foundation year in 2021 with an initial intake of Stage 4. In the formative years Leaders of Learning positions will be multi-disciplinary and will evolve into discreet roles (i.e Leader of Learning Religion and Ministry Coordinator) as school enrolments develop.
The College is located in the beautiful Port Stephens region and can provide the ideal coastal or semi-rural lifestyle for those considering a sea change. Medowie is only 34km from the Newcastle CBD and within an hour’s drive to the stunning Hunter Valley area.
This Leader of Learning position has specific responsibility for leadership of the Key Learning Area of Religion and the Ministry life of the College.
A Leader of Learning is a member of the College Leadership Team and chair of a faculty-based Learning Team. In addition, they will co-chair the College Ministry Team along with the College Chaplain. They have the responsibility to ensure that the learning and teaching taking place reflects the College Moral Imperative and Mission statements and meets the learning needs of each student.
• Be a practising Catholic who is committed to the life of their Eucharistic community, with an understanding of, clear commitment to, and ability to articulate the theology and objectives of the Catholic school.
<br>• The applicant should have a four-year trained teacher classification and with an established record of success in teaching.
<br>• Work closely with the College Chaplain in implementing professional learning and a formation framework of experiences for staff, including staff prayer, staff liturgies, faith formation and spirituality days.
<br>• Initiate, encourage and participate in the liturgical and prayer life within the school community.
<br>• Write, implement and evaluate retreat and reflection day programs for students from Years 7 to 12.
<br>• Capacity and willingness to actively lead, manage and support staff in the faith life of the College.
<br>• Leadership in the development and implementation of the College Religious Education program.
<br>• Ability to model the integration of Catholic perspectives into classroom practice.
<br>• Lead professional learning dialogue by facilitating opportunities for teams of teachers to meet, plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate learning.
<br>• Ensure learning and teaching practices align with the College Moral Imperative to co-create learning opportunities that empower young people to become confident, agile and reflective learners.
<br>• Current NESA Accreditation
<br>• Paid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
<br>• Completion of Anaphylaxis training
<br>• Willingness to comply with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy 2018
<br>• Willingness to work towards the current Accreditation at Category E: Accreditation for Senior Leadership
<br>• Be a practising Catholic with a capacity for significant leadership in the religious dimension of the College community and must provide a current Parish Priest Reference and contact details.
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2017.
This position attracts a 2 Point Coordinator Allowance of $15,982 annually plus base salary.
