Our mission is <strong>to know and love Christ through learning</strong> and our vision is <strong>to foster thriving Catholic communities through excellent teaching and learning.</strong> At the heart of all we do are our core values of <strong>empathy, curiosity, excellence, collaboration and truth.</strong><br> </p> <p dir="ltr">Reporting to the Manager: Research and Innovation, this role focuses on directing and supporting the work of a team in a variety of strategic and operational matters, with a particular focus on design building and facilities design and pedagogical practice. The Specialist Design will provide subject matter expertise on the design principles for educational facilities to Principals, Architects and Project Managers and develop plans for the integration of new facilities into pedagogical practice.<br> </p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Major Accountabilities:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">The Specialist: Design is required to perform tasks which include but are not limited to:<br> </p> <ul> <li>Lead the collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to research, design and deliver projects, across the Education and Research and Finance and Property directorates.</li> <li>Collaborate and negotiate the development of a system wide principles that underpin school design briefs.</li> <li>Liaise, challenge and negotiate with architects and project managers in the implementation of the educational design briefs.</li> <li>Participate in projects as the subject matter expert.</li> <li>Ensure that global education strategies promote open-mindedness leading to new thinking about the world and a predisposition to take action for change in educational delivery.</li> <li>Develop leading edge methods and strategies to achieve goals through a framework of global education for SCS.</li> <li>Coordinate the agreed principles for the design of learning environments, school refurbishments and new schools.</li> <li>Provide detailed analysis of proposed school projects and assessment of school needs ;</li> <li>Verify the veracity of the need for proposed projects and their priority..</li> <li>Collaborate in the understanding how the general capabilities, appropriate pedagogical approaches and holistic assessments develop multidisciplinary capabilities in students.</li> <li>Coach in the implementation and use of educational facilities.</li> <li>Negotiate and collaborate with Education and Research Managers and Supervisors to ensure synergy across the directorate and then across networks and schools.</li> <li>Develop SCS strategies in consultation with the Manager and the property and finance directorate.</li> <li>Execute agreed goals and objectives in accordance with the directorate.</li> <li>Manage and work within project budget and maintain metrics.</li> <li>Communicating effectively across a full range of platforms and technologies.</li> <li>Manage and evaluate external stakeholders to ensure achievement of organisational goals.</li> <li>Manage the development, implementation and monitoring of key performance indicators for direct reports.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">To be considered for this role, you will have the following experience, skills and knowledge:<br> </p> <ul dir="ltr"> <li>University Degree in Education or Teaching.</li> <li>Minimum 5 years of leading a school.</li> <li>Postgraduate degree in Education or related discipline.</li> <li>Experienced in leading staff in developing new school designs through project completion.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in the use of new education facilities.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience and relationships with industry experts in learning design</li> <li>Demonstrated success improving student outcomes.</li> <li>Demonstrated success in implementing school wide initiatives.</li> <li>Experienced in using data analysis to inform educational initiatives.</li> <li>Ability to articulate contemporary educational trends in both local and international contexts.</li> <li>High order written, oral and presentation skills.</li> <li>Willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.</li> <li>Valid Working With Children Check clearance (WWC) number.</li> <li>Ability to represent the mission of the Catholic Church through your personal and professional conduct.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Application Process</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">please apply via <a href="https://cgprod.phris.org.au/">https://cgprod.phris.org.au</a> and follow the steps to complete your application and be considered for this opportunity.</p> <p dir="ltr">If you have any questions about the role, please contact the recruitment team via hr.recruitment@syd.catholic.edu.au<br> </p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Working with Children Check</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">This role is classified as a child-related work endeavour and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.<br> </p>
