We move toward this vision through our Mission, which is to educate individuals in a Christian environment enabling them, through a stimulating and dynamic curriculum, supported by the teachings of Jesus Christ, to participate meaningfully in this contemporary society.

<b>Purpose of the role</b> </p><p>A teacher, as a member of the GEMS Christian Education Ltd staff, is instrumental in fostering the Christian identity of the Company. The teacher must play a vital role in modelling and promoting Christian values and ideals in addition to carrying out specific tasks that assist in the efficient operation of GEMS Christian Education Ltd.
</p><p><b>Outline of Teacher Duties</b>
</p><ul><li>Secondary - Teach the assigned subject areas.
</li><li>Teaching assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction.
</li><li>Undertake direct teaching of groups of students and individual students as determined by the Deans.
</li><li>Developing the school curriculum in consultation with other professional personnel.
</li><li>Develop children’s interests, abilities and co-ordination using creative activities such as art, music and sport. Outdoor Education, Excursion Trips.
</li><li>Use computers to assist in lesson preparation, teaching and reporting.
</li><li>Develop and maintain good working habits and discipline in classrooms.
</li><li>Carry out administrative duties as required.
</li><li>Supervise students during classes and at other times in the school day, including in the playground during breaks.
</li><li>Attend staff meetings and other training and development sessions.
</li><li>Undertake appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
</li><li>Participate in issues related to Company planning, raising achievement and individual review.
</li><li>Contributing towards good order and the wider needs of GEMS Christian Education Ltd.
</li><li>Adhering to the GEMS Christian Education Ltd Behaviour Management Policy and Code of Conduct.
</li><li>Take part in joint decision-making about educational issues.
</li><li>Assess, record and report on the work of students.
</li><li>Prepare students for examinations and assist with their administration.
</li><li>Provide advice and guidance to students on issues related to their education.
</li><li>Discuss students’ progress and concerns with principal, parents and administrators.
</li><li>Assist and organise sporting activities, school concerts and excursions.
</li><li>Prepare for and attend parent/teacher interviews and other functions.
</li><li>Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of students.
</li><li>Work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
</li></ul><p><b>Education Qualifications </b></p><ul><li>A recognized teacher qualification.
