St Joseph’s High School, Aberdeen is currently seeking a Full-time Permanent Ministry Coordinator commencing Term 1, 2021. This position attracts a 2 pts allowance. St Joseph’s High School is a co-educational, Year 7-12 school committed in partnership with the community to meeting the academic, social, physical and spiritual needs of its students. St Joseph’s promotes an authentic learning community with a rigorous and comprehensive academic curriculum encouraging high standards of education for every student. The successful applicant will be responsible, in partnership with the Principal, staff and Parish community, for the continuing development of the Catholic ethos and spiritual experiences of staff and students with aspects of the role including: <br/>• Liaising with parish communities to develop connection between school and parish; finding ways to promote links with the parish and preparing for events in the liturgical calendar. <br/>• Develops and implements professional learning and a formation framework of experiences for staff, including staff prayer, staff liturgies, faith formation and spirituality days. <br/>• Initiates, encourages and participates in the liturgical and prayer life within the school community. <br/>• Write, implement, and evaluate retreat and reflection day programs for students from Year 7 to 12 <br/>• Being an effective member of the school executive team, including contributing to the writing, implementation and review of policies and procedures relating to Catholic formation and mission in light of the continuum of School Improvement (COSI) <br/>• Being an active and contributing member of the Catholic Schools Office ministry coordinator group

• A relevant and contemporary understanding of the philosophy of Catholic Education; <br>• Ability to teach in the relevant curriculum area/s: Religious Studies; <br>• High level knowledge of the relevant key learning area/s and a proven capacity to improve student learning; <br>• Effective classroom management and teaching skills which enable students with a diverse range of needs to achieve their full potential; <br>• Exemplary values and attitudes appropriate to professional practice and the intellectual, physical and social development of students; <br>• Demonstrated capacity to reflect critically upon professional practice and commitment to ongoing professional learning. <br>• Commitment and capacity to actively contribute to a broad range of school activities as a member of the school team; <br>• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues. <br>• Use of interpersonal skills to develop positive relationships with students, school staff and the wider community; <br>• An understanding of and a clear commitment to the philosophy and objectives of Catholic education, as expressed in a variety of Church documents, and as related to specific curriculum areas. <br>• Demonstrated experience and competency in coordinating retreats, liturgy, prayer for the school community and social justice. <br>• Demonstrated ability to liaise with and interact with parishes <br>• Ability to model integrating Catholic perspectives into classroom practice. <br> <h3>Essential Criteria:</h3> <br> • Practising Catholic with an understanding of, and clear commitment to, the philosophy and objectives of Catholic Education <br>• Current Parish Priest Reference <br>• Current NESA Accreditation and Paid Working With Children Check (WWCC); <br>• Qualifications as a four year trained teacher; <br>• Completion of Anaphylaxis training; <br>• Willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead 2018 and willingness to achieve Current Accreditation at Category E – Accreditation for Senior Leadership including Post-graduate qualifications in Theology / Religious Education <br> <h3>Desirable Criteria:</h3> <br> <br> <h3>Renumeration:</h3> <br> Salary is in accordance with New South Wales &amp; Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2017.
