(Year3 to Year 6, Current enrolment 395) Holy Spirit Primary School, Kurri Kurri is located in the beautiful Hunter Valley area of New South Wales catering for students from Year 3 to Year 6. Surrounded by verdant countryside, Kurri Kurri is known to have the largest display of murals in mainland Australia. The region is full of activities catering to various lifestyle types and only 35 minutes outside of the Newcastle CBD. A school of 395, Holy Spirit Primary School strive to create an inclusive community of dedicated to the intellectual, emotional, social, physical, spiritual and educational development of each child. In the Diocese of Maitland Newcastle Religious Education Co-ordinators (RECs) are recognised and acknowledged as Religious Leaders for the school community. They are senior members of the school executive team and are tasked with the role of supporting the Principal in promoting and affirming the Catholic culture, identity and mission of the school. RECs are practising Catholics who are committed to the life of their Eucharistic community and have an understanding of their Baptismal call to share and witness the Good News of Jesus Christ with students, parents and staff. RECs represent the school and the teaching profession in the community, especially the parish. They are professional, ethical and respected individuals within and outside the school. It is expected the REC will work in partnership with the Principal and Parish Priest in providing religious leadership for the school and wider community.

• Compliance with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead policy and will need to achieve accreditation at Category E – Accreditation for Senior Leadership. (within a time -frame specified at time of appointment) <br> <h3>Essential Criteria:</h3> <br> • Must be a practising Catholic who is committed to the life of their Eucharistic community; <br>• Demonstrate an implicit and relevant understanding of the philosophy and theology of Catholic Education, the mission of the Church through Catholic schools and be able to articulate this clearly to others; <br>• Demonstrate a high-level knowledge and understanding of the relevant Religious Education Frameworks and the Diocesan (K-6) RE Syllabus; <br>• Demonstrate capacity to ensure staff incorporate key understandings and appropriate methodologies in the teaching of Religious Education (RE) which will lead to students knowing the core teachings of the Catholic faith and how these are lived in the world today; <br>• Proven capacity to facilitate improvement in student learning; <br>• Proven capacity to identify areas of school improvement, advocate and systematically plan for the facilitation of professional learning and formation of staff; <br>• Demonstrate exemplary values and attitudes appropriate to professional practice; <br>• Proven capacity to build links between the school and its broader parish community in ways that foster the Mission of the Church; <br>• Demonstrate capacity to promote faith formation within the community by providing rich experiences in prayer, reflection and liturgy; and <br>• Demonstrate capacity to work collaboratively as a member of the school’s leadership team. Note: To start or return to working as a teacher in a NSW school, you must be accredited by NESA. Your current NESA and Working With Children number must be recorded on your application. <br> <h3>Desirable Criteria:</h3> <br> <br> <h3>Renumeration:</h3> <br> Salary is in accordance with New South Wales &amp; Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2017. The position of REC at this school currently attracts an allowance of $15,982.00 p.a.
