As the Head of Training Support Section at Defence International Training Centre, you will work with an innovative team that play a key role in supporting and delivering training, assessment and TESOL teaching that is aimed at enhancing Defence’s international engagement.

<p><b>EL 1 </b></p><p><b>$101,955 - $115,005 (plus super) </b></p><p><b>Laverton, VIC </b><br /></p><p>The team you will work within is a diverse group of experienced people that fulfil a range of functions in the Training Support Section. </p><p><b>There is, for example: </b></p><p>• an ADFELPS Development Officer who produces material and oversees the conduct of the Australian Defence Force English Language Profiling System (ADFELPS), our English language testing system </p><p>• a number of International Seconded Officers who whilst working on their MA studies will also support the delivery of the testing and assessment section </p><p>• a Publishing Clerk who works with you to design and publish material both digitally and hard copies </p><p>• a Multi-media Officer who photographs and records events, and creates visual and digital learning materials and </p><p>• a Training Assessment/Evaluation Officer who designs and implements learning reviews. The learning reviews involve the collection, analysis and synthesis of feedback from students and teachers. This data is submitted to the training review board to continually improve courses. </p><p>Our team will work collaboratively with you to understand, shape and improve training support </p><p>As the Head of Training Support Section at Defence International Training Centre, you will work with an innovative team that play a key role in supporting and delivering training, assessment and TESOL teaching that is aimed at enhancing Defence’s international engagement. </p><p><b>You will: </b></p><p>• Lead a diverse team to deliver excellence in the support of training and TESOL teaching  </p><p>• Provide leadership and expert advice in the design and development of flexible learning materials for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) contexts </p><p>• Provide leadership and expert advice on English as a Second Language assessment and testing systems </p><p>• Identify and implement enhanced business outcomes, focusing on Professional Development, Teaching and Staff Development Programs  </p><p>• Manage resources, forward planning, budgeting, reporting and formulation of strategies for the Training Support Section  </p><p>• Guide and provide expertise to staff both in Australia and those posted overseas  </p><p>• Develop, administer and deliver training for and in conjunction with staff for assessment raters and online learning </p><p>You will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role, working with a diverse team to improve training and support to enhance Defence’s international engagement. </p><p>We are looking for a high performing, experienced leader with experience in and a passion for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. </p><p><b>You will have: </b> </p><p>• a track record in team management and coaching and the flexibility to respond to changing priorities and aligning resources to meet new demands. </p><p>• exemplary communication skills and intercultural competence, and a willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required. </p><p> </p><p>Application Closing Date: <b>18 June 2020  </b></p><p>For further information please review the job information pack, reference <b>JCG/02330/20</b> on <a href="http://www.defence.gov.au/apscareers" rel="nofollow">www.defence.gov.au/apscareers</a>  </p><p> </p><p><br /></p>
