Oran Park Anglican College is a rapidly growing school located in the fastest growing area of Southwest Sydney. The College has modern purpose-built facilities and will cater for a population of over 800 students Prep – Year 12 in 2020. There are two temporary positions available and we are seeking suitably qualified and experienced teachers for each of them: 1. HSIE teacher with Stage 6 Modern History and Geography commencing 9 June until the end of Term 4, 2020. 2. HSIE teacher with Stage 6 Business Studies and Legal Studies commencing 20 July 2020 for 6 weeks.

<p><b>Essential Criteria </b></p><p>The successful applicants must have the capacity to build effective relationships with students, staff and parents to enhance student wellbeing and outcomes. Essential criteria for this role include; </p><p>• A committed Christian and an active member of a church </p><p>• Relevant tertiary qualifications for the position and NESA teacher accreditation </p><p>• Knowledge of current syllabus documents and proven ability to develop contemporary teaching and learning programs that deliver improved student outcomes. </p><p>• Demonstrated ability in using technology in the learning process </p><p>• An understanding of and commitment to student wellbeing </p><p>• Demonstrated ability to contribute to the co-curricular life of the College </p><p>• Well-developed written, oral and organisational skills </p><p>• An ability to work effectively as a team member </p><p>• A commitment to ongoing personal professional development </p><p><b>Desirable Criteria </b></p><p>• Understanding of explicit, direct instruction and demonstrated capacity to use this pedagogy to develop students’ knowledge, understanding and skills in the relevant subject area. </p><p>• Understanding and experience in use of restorative practices within a student wellbeing framework. </p><p><b>Major Responsibilities </b></p><p>The Secondary classroom teacher is responsible to the Principal, through the Head of Senior School and their Head of Faculty for: </p><p>• identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed </p><p>• setting appropriate academic and behavioural expectations </p><p>• active participation in goal setting, peer coaching and mentoring for improving pedagogy </p><p>• promoting the general progress and well-being of students </p><p>• providing effective feedback to students which promotes growth in their learning </p><p>• having an active commitment to and involvement with the co-curricular life of the College </p><p>• modelling a Christian example in all activities and care for the spiritual welfare of the students in their care </p><p>• working collaboratively with other staff to promote the College’s values: courage, curiosity, craftsmanship, collaboration and compassion </p><p><b>Status </b></p><p>Temporary Full Time (maternity leave replacement) </p><p><b>Commencement Dates </b></p><p>There are two positions: </p><p>1. 9 June 2020 - 10 December 2020 (2 ½ terms) </p><p>2. 20 July 2020 – 28 August 2020 (6 weeks) </p><p><b>Submitting an application </b></p><p>Applications will only be considered if the relevant “Application for employment – Teaching” form and Working with Children Check is completed and disclosed on your application. </p><p>In addition, please provide a supporting statement about your experience which demonstrates your ability to meet the essential criteria listed above. </p><p>The “Application for Employment – Teaching” form and link to the relevant Working with Children Check can found under the “Employment” tab of the College website. </p><p>Please forward your application marked “Private and Confidential” to: </p><p>Mrs Naomi Wilkins </p><p>Principal </p><p>Oran Park Anglican College </p><p>Email employment&#64;opac.nsw.edu.au – one PDF document </p><p>Post PO Box 1293, NARELLAN NSW 2567 </p><p>Website www.opac.nsw.edu.au </p><p><b> Applications close when positions filled </b></p><p><br /></p>
