Yirralka Education at Mäpuru is seeking an Early Childhood/Primary relief teacher who will develop a long term relationship with our college through providing 2 - 10 week blocks of relief teaching. Mäpuru Yirralka College is a newly created independent school and is governed by the elders, custodians and families of Mäpuru who make up Yirralka Education.

<h5>Travel costs to and from Mäpuru, east Arnhem Land, for relief teaching are provided.</h5><p>The Early Childhood/Primary relief teacher will work collaboratively in a teaching team with Yolngu co-teachers (assistant teachers) to ensure continuity of the established class routines and pedagogies, developing and implementing teaching and learning programs, developing resources, assessing student learning and reporting to parents. </p><p>The Primary learning program develops students’ early literacy and numeracy skills through a bi-literacy and bi-cultural (English and Djambarrpuyngu) learning program.  The classroom is staffed with 1 qualified teacher and 2 Yolngu co-teachers (assistant teachers). </p><p>The 6 -14 enthusiastic learners in this class range from Preschool through to Yr 6 and thrive with explicit, purposeful learning.</p><h5>A Rewarding Opportunity </h5><p>This is a unique opportunity to work and live in a healthy and productive remote Aboriginal community for short periods of time.
