The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with teachers to address students&#39; language needs and to develop staff capacity in addressing the needs of EAL/D background students.</p><p><br /></p><p><b>The main responsibilities of the role include:</b></p><ul><li>Working with teachers to support them in their delivery of EAL/D strategies, including collaborative planning and co-teaching. </li><li>Identifying and using data to assist teachers with their design of teaching, learning and assessment for EAL/D students across the curriculum</li><li>Assessing and working with students and teachers to help students improve their language proficiency</li><li>Developing Individual Education Plans for students identified as Newly Arrived.</li><li>Organising, maintaining, reviewing and promoting EAL/D resources</li><li>Working with the College Leaders of Learning on designated projects </li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b>Essential Criteria</b></p><ul><li>Demonstrable support and commitment to the mission, values and ethos of Catholic Education</li><li>NESA Accreditation and registration, or eligibility for registration to teach, with Sydney Catholic Schools</li><li>Appropriate tertiary qualifications, including training in EAL/D or TESOL </li><li>Demonstrable and sustained success as a classroom teacher, with experience in teaching students of EAL/D background and in improving their educational outcomes.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with teachers in developing their practice to improve the achievement of EAL/D learners</li><li>Ability and demonstrated experience in collecting and using a range of evidence to assess, evaluate and improve teaching and learning practices</li><li>Interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate quality relationships in working with colleagues, students and parents</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b>Desirable Criteria</b></p><ul><li>Practising Catholic with accreditation to teach Religious Education in the Archdiocese of Sydney</li><li>Willingness to lead and support co-curricular events </li></ul>
