<p>The Aboriginal and Islander Education worker holds an identified position, being responsible for:</p><ul><li>working with Aboriginal &amp; Islander students in the classroom providing educational and pastoral support.</li><li>liaising with parents and guardians to facilitate a strong connection with the College and its ethos.</li><li>developing and maintaining relationships with organisations who provide assistance to Aboriginal &amp; Islander students and their families.</li><li>to assist the College in the presentation of Aboriginal &amp; Islander issues in their education programs.</li></ul><p>The successful applicant will:</p><ul><li>be able to demonstrate skills in cross-cultural communication.</li><li>be able to demonstrate an ability to relate to Aboriginal &amp; Islander people when providing a liaison service.</li><li>be able to demonstrate prior experience in providing a liaison service, which involved close contact with Aboriginal &amp; Islander people.</li><li>be willing to make positive contributions to the College and to support actively the Catholic ethos of the school</li><li>be ICT literate</li><li>have obtained or applied for an NT Working With Children Card.</li><li>hold a current Drivers&#39; Licence.<br /></li></ul><p>This is a full time permanent position available for the right applicant.</p><p>Salary as per the current EBA and consistent with experience and qualification.  Salary range from $62,010 to $80,435 per year (pro-rata) plus applicable allowances.<br /></p>
