Champagnat Catholic College Pagewood seeks suitably qualified and experienced Learning Support Officers to work under the guidance of the Learning Support Teachers and classroom teachers to support the implementation of individual and class programs for students with diverse needs. This support includes assisting in the implementation of programs across all KLAs both within classrooms and through withdrawal to the Learning Support Department. These positions will be offered on an as needs basis throughout the 2020 school year, some being single casual days and at other times the possibility of a lengthier block of employment.

<p><b>Position Requirements: </b></p><ul><li> must be willing to support the ethos of the Catholic School </li><li> must have a competent level of literacy and numeracy </li><li> must have an interest in the process of learning to read and understanding numeracy </li><li> must have a cooperative nature and a kind manner and be capable of supporting children in their learning </li><li> must be capable of working under supervision of the Learning Support Teachers and Classroom Teacher, which includes practical subjects eg. Hospitality, Timber.  </li></ul><p><b><i> Experience in schools preferred </i></b></p><p><b> Desirable Criteria: </b></p><ul><li> experience in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder </li><li> experience working with children with oppositional behaviours </li><li> experience in implementing behaviour plans </li><li> understands and implements non-violent crisis intervention strategies </li><li> experience working with children from Year 7 to Year 12 </li><li> experience working with children with a disability </li><li> have excellent organisational, communication and information technology skills </li></ul><p> The model in which the Learning Support Officer operates will depend on the particular needs of the student/s being supported in the school and may include: </p><ul><li> The monitoring and /or supervising of hygiene and self-care programs </li><li> Working with students who have challenging behaviours </li></ul><p><b>Application Process:</b><br /></p><p>Please email your resume and a cover letter of introduction that addresses the essential criteria to donna.costello&#64;syd.catholic.edu.au or danielle.ingram&#64;syd.catholic.edu.au.
