All Saint's College Maitland invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced and highly motivated people for the position of temporary part time Learning Support Assistant to join the school community for the Term 1, 2020. This role is 16 hours/week working across 4 days per week. All Saints’ is a 7-12 Co-educational College across two campuses. As the senior campus for All Saints' College, St Mary’s Campus in Maitland caters for Year 11 and 12 students only. This means that the key focus for students is learning in a senior-only environment, which is optimal for HSC preparation. The Learning Support Coordinator will have responsibility for the management of special needs focus programs, inclusive of gifted and talented, assistance to teachers with curriculum differentiation, supervision of support personnel as appropriate; and be able to assist schools in their professional development needs.

• A relevant understanding of the philosophy of Catholic Education; <br>• Certificate III in Special Education (minimum) <br>• Cooperative nature, kind manner and capable of supporting children in their learning <br>• Competent level of literacy and numeracy and the confidence to assist students with their literacy and numeracy <br>• Capable of working under the supervision of the Learning Support Coordinator and Classroom Teachers <br>• High level of communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students and other teachers <br>• Ability to contribute as a member of a team and assist in the planning, preparation and implementation of personalised plans and programs to enhance student support <br> <h3>Essential Criteria:</h3> <br> • Paid Working With Children Check (WWCC); <br>• Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder <br>• Experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviours and ability to follow plans and procedures put in place for these students <br>• Understanding of non-violent crisis intervention strategies for secondary school students <br>• Highly developed computer skills and an ability to use technology for education support <br> <h3>Desirable Criteria:</h3> <br> • Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead 2018 - formerly the Faith Education Accreditation (FEA) Policy 2012; <br>• Current Accreditation at Category B – Accreditation to Teach (Teaching staff who do not teach Religion) or working towards this accreditation. <br> <h3>Renumeration:</h3> <br> Salary is in accordance with New South Wales &amp; Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2017. <br> <h3>Additional Info:</h3> <br> Benefits include: • a corporate fitness program; • employee assistance program (EAP); • paid parental leave; • training and staff development programs; • access to long service leave after just five years; • opportunity for leasing motor vehicles; and • 9.5 per cent superannuation.
