A rare opportunity exists to lead Pastoral Care (including Social and Emotional Learning and wellbeing) at John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, Bonnyrigg Heights.

<p><b>Role: </b></p><p><b>The school seeks an experienced teacher/leader who, as a member of the school leadership team is responsible for:</b></p><ul><li>  Building staff capacity in classroom and playground behaviour management  </li><li> Coordinating referrals, contacting outside agencies and connecting with allied services       </li><li>Coordinating and/or running social skills and group programs for identified students </li><li>Forming and monitoring Individual Behaviour Plans  </li><li>Conducting case meetings with staff, parents, and support services  </li><li>Supporting teachers in managing and responding to critical behavioural incidents </li><li>Coordinating the integration of school based support programs, diverse learning and student wellbeing initiatives </li><li>Leading the consolidation of school and classroom based programs and practices including Restorative Justice, UR strong, resilience, Positive Behaviours for learning and the Be You initiative </li><li>Implementing creative and successful playground and playtime initiatives for students requiring differentiated social and emotional opportunities </li><li>Managing discipline and pastoral responses to student behaviour challenges in collaboration with school leadership, staff, students and families </li><li>Managing the school’s affirmation/rewards system and provide opportunities to celebrate successes </li><li>Managing the school&#39;s behaviour support data  </li><li>Implement student leadership structures and provide opportunities for student voice </li><li>Monitor whole school student attendance trends and oversee attendance processes, including Attendance Improvement Plans, for students with poor attendance patterns </li></ul><p><b> </b><b>Essential Criteria: </b></p><ul><li>An exceptional classroom teacher with proven ability to provide exemplary classroom behaviour management, highly effective pedagogical practices and pastoral insight to support students and teachers </li><li>A desire to bring life and joy to vulnerable children and families </li><li>The ability to create clear and determined responses to individual, class and teacher needs in supporting behavioural, social and emotional learning</li><li>An ability to gather, interpret, analyse and share data to inform future directions and pastoral opportunities to improve student wellbeing and behaviour </li><li>Ensure behaviour management practices support a rigorous learning environment </li></ul><p> </p><p><b>Successful applicants must have:  </b></p><ul><li>Well developed interpersonal skills </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment </li><li>Strong organisational skills </li><li>Ability to engage and motivate staff and develop capability and potential in others </li><li>Support, promote and manage change effectively </li><li>Ability to vision and initiate pro-active and appropriately responsive strategies, programs and procedures   </li><li>Religious Education qualifications according to Sydney Catholic Schools Policy and be of practising Catholic faith</li><li>NESA Accreditation Number</li><li>WWC documentation</li><li>SALT Compliance Certificates</li></ul><p><b>This is a substantial leadership role within the school that requires higher level skills and abilities.
