<p>SPECIFIC CRITERIA </p><p>St Leo’s Catholic College is seeking to appoint an energetic HSIE Teacher to lead the HSIE KLA and to teach Years </p><p>7-12. The Leader of Learning HSIE is a key academic leadership position at the College. </p><p> The successful applicant will: </p><p>• Be a highly effective, skilled classroom practitioner committed to the ethos of the Catholic School; </p><p>• Be suitably qualified to teach HSIE subjects including one or more of the following subjects: History, Geography, Commerce, Business Studies, Economics, Legal Studies, Society &amp; Culture. The ability to teach Economics and/or Business Studies would be a distinct advantage. </p><p>• Have experience in leading and managing staff; </p><p>• Support and implement the goals and values of Catholic education and the strategic priorities of the College; </p><p>• Embed innovative pedagogical practices and ability to integrate digital leveraging into the classroom practice with experience teaching Stages, 4, 5 and 6 HSIE courses. </p><p>• Promote and understand the importance of assessment practice, data analysis and feedback to enhance learning. </p><p>• Be able to differentiate the curriculum to meet student learning needs across the spectrum of student ability; </p><p>• Capacity to create a motivating and engaging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all learners through varied teaching strategies and sound pedagogical practices; Ability to understand the individual needs of students to maximise learning opportunities; </p><p>• Effective in managing and facilitating safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive student welfare practices; </p><p>• HSC marking experience would be an advantage but not essential; </p><p>• Willingness to contribute to the broader extracurricular aspects of school life as an active member of the school community;</p><p>• Ability to monitor professional learning needs and align them to the learning needs of students; <br /></p><p>• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic professional learning community; </p><p>• Highly developed interpersonal and presentation skills able to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, colleagues, parents/carers and community members. </p><p> Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4 year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.
