We are seeking a 2 point coordinator with knowledge and insights in special needs education who can lead curriculum in a K-12 special school.

<p>Eileen O’Connor Catholic College (EOCC), Lewisham is a co-educational primary and secondary Sydney Catholic Schools college. The college opened in 2016 to meet the needs of students with moderate intellectual disability and other complex learning needs and in 2020 will enrol approximately 100 K-12 students. </p><p>In 2020, the college will establish a campus at Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School, Hoxton Park that will incorporate two Network Classes for Year 3-5 students. These classes will each enrol 6-8 students with moderate intellectual disability and other complex learning needs, each with a teacher and Learning Support Officer, with access to speech and occupational therapy services and teaching and learning programs based on the EOCC Authentic for Learning for Life pedagogical framework. Applicants wishing to know more about the college can access the school’s website https://eocc.nsw.edu.au/</p><p>Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Principal: EOCC, the Network Coordinator will be responsible for all operational activities, programs and processes for the Good Shepherd Network Classes. The successful applicant will be expected to establish programs that align with EOCC Lewisham and address the needs of students with significant and complex disabilities within an integrated school setting. The Coordinator role has been developed within the context of the following factors: </p><p>That the Good Shepherd Network Class program represents the inaugural EOCC campus established in a Sydney Catholic school;</p><p>That the EOCC Lewisham Leadership Team will provide ongoing support for the Network Coordinator in attending to the needs of staff, families and students attending the Network Classes;</p><p>That the Network Coordinator will be supported by the EOCC Lewisham community in implementing the college’s Authentic Learning for Life curriculum framework and pedagogy for Network Class staff and students.</p><p>The successful applicant will be a highly effective Catholic leader who meets the following criteria:</p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><p>Accreditation to teach in Sydney Catholic Schools; </p><p>Accreditation to teach Religious Education in Sydney Catholic Schools;</p><p>Postgraduate qualifications in disability education or related fields.</p><p><b>Experience  </b></p><p>Proven success in disability education, with particular expertise in the area of classroom teaching provision for K-6 students with complex disabilities;</p><p>Capacity to lead a small team of special educators;</p><p>Experience in working with staff, parents and carers of students with complex disabilities.</p><p><b>Demonstrated knowledge and competencies</b><br /></p><p>Understanding of current research and emerging practices in the field of disability education;</p><p>Ability to use data and research to inform practice;</p><p>Ability to work collaboratively within and across teams to achieve educational improvement;</p><p>Demonstrated ability to build strong and productive professional relationships across a school;</p><p>Appreciation of the dynamics of both school and system improvement;</p><p>Superior written, oral and digital communication skills.</p><p><br /></p>
