<p><b>SCHOOL SUPPORT OFFICER - ADMINISTRATION LEVEL 4 </b></p><p> An exciting opportunity exists to join Aquinas Catholic College, Menai where our Catholic beliefs and values are an important part of our culture. We are seeking an experienced, innovative and passionate Administrative Support Officer to support the busy school office three days per week for a total of 36 hours per fortnight. Aquinas Catholic College, Menai is a co-educational School whose mission is to engage, empower and evolve. </p><p> </p><p>Aquinas Catholic College is a dynamic and welcoming Catholic community with strong partnerships between school, home, and parish. Reporting to the Principal in the role of Administrative Support Officer and working collaboratively with the School Leadership Team, staff and parents, this role will support the delivery of quality learning and teaching. You will be a strong team player supporting our values and mission, and contributing to the effective business administration of our school. </p><p> </p><p>This position is Level 4, required to work 3 days per week (Monday to Wednesday), 8.30am to 3pm and requires an agile team member who is skilled in both clerical and reception duties. The successful applicant will be responsible for general school office duties, including administration, finance, communicating with parents, students, teachers and support staff and will be a welcoming face to the school community, having strong interpersonal skills and a professional presence. This role includes the preparation and distribution of the weekly College newsletter and assisting with enrolments. </p><p> </p><p>The successful applicant will display a professional manner in dealing with people and have an appreciation of the sensitive nature of a school, including the confidentiality that this workplace environment requires. </p><p> </p><p>The successful applicant must be willing to learn new processes and procedures. </p><p> </p><p>The role will require: </p><p>• The ability to work autonomously with minimal direction to set deadlines and timeframes </p><p>• Focus on the administration of the school budget and finances in collaboration with the Principal </p><p>• Interacting positively with a helpful and cooperative approach to parents, students, and staff </p><p>• Engagement with all school processes including WHS, recruitment, maintenance of facilities and administrative support </p><p> </p><p>Essential Criteria: </p><p>• ICT literate </p><p>• An understanding of, and support for the Catholic ethos of the College </p><p>• Capacity to create, edit and produce College publications </p><p>• Previous experience in an office environment </p><p>• Advanced word processing and editing skills </p><p>• Proficiency in the MS Office Suite of applications including Publisher </p><p>• Proven ability to recognise confidential issues as they arise and to treat them with the sensitivity required </p><p>• Highly developed organisational skills </p><p>• An ability to work under limited direction </p><p>• A helpful and cooperative approach to leading and working within a team </p><p>• This position will require a satisfactory Working with Children check. </p><p>Desirable Criteria: </p><p>• Familiarity with SAS (the Sydney Catholic Schools and School finance package) and willingness to undertake further training as necessary </p><p>• Familiarity with our student management system - COMPASS </p><p>• Familiarity with Google Docs. </p><p>Experience within the educational sector will be seen as an advantage. </p><p> </p><p>The successful applicant will thrive on working in a fast-paced setting and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to maintain confidentiality. </p><p> </p><p>Shortlisted applicants may be required to participate in a series of online skills assessments.
