10 hours per week, Monday - Friday 4pm-6pm
$65 - $75 per hour (determined by experience)
<p>The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 - 10 years current experience with the NSW Primary School curriculum (Minimum Band 2.1 level) and has taught within a rigorous academic school, so has an understanding of student expectations within those institutions. </p><p>Ideally, the experience would be with a focus on Years 5, 6 and 7. In addition, a strong understanding of the phonemic principles of learning to read and write.
</p><p>The role is to first and foremost restore and consolidate the children's confidence in their own ability and to instill a fundamental understanding that all forms of learning require diligence and a self-motivation to work to the best of your ability.
</p><p>The successful candidate will provide guided support for homework and subject revision - to guide and extend the student to deliver a considered homework outcome. Not just "getting it done." All facets of the homework agenda are fulfilled and allocated regular times for execution. The role requires weekly reading aloud, reading comprehension practice, engaged routine maths revision, stimulate executive function - how to solve multiple stage verbal and numerical problems, improve grammar and sentence composition, as well as expand vocabulary in both written and verbal expression.
</p><p>Eight of the ten hours will be focused on a Year 5 student with 2 x 1 hours to be allocated to a Kindergarten and Year 1 student.
