An Employee whose principal duties are to support the other services of a school, including but not limited to building and grounds maintenance.

<div><strong>Expression of Interest</strong></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>"We're seeking a Non-trade Qualified Building Maintenance employee who will be responsible to support the other services of a school, including but not limited to cleaning, building and grounds maintenance.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>This is an Expression of Interest for the role as there is no firm commencement date yet. The successful candidate will need to undergo mandatory physical checks and obtain a Working With Children Clearance number (WWCC) prior to commencing in this role.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>This role will be a temporary full time block for approximately 6 weeks only.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Key accountabilities<br> <ul> <li>Ability to conduct non-specialised repair work;</li> <li>Overall responsibility for school grounds and building maintenance including:</li> <li>Maintenance of school gardens such as mowing of grass and gardening</li> <li>Cleaning of external areas such blowing of pathways and picking up of rubbish</li> <li>Emptying of wheelie bins</li> <li>Washing of wheelie bins during the term break</li> <li>Checking of incident report per maintenance book and attend as per request.</li> <li>Fixing of various minor maintenance required</li> <li>Set up of hall or other school areas as per request from team leaders and directors</li> <li>Marking of ovals for sports activities</li> <li>Cleanup of small graffiti within the school</li> <li>Opening and closing of gates within the school that requires manual intervention</li> <li>Checking of rooms by the end of the day to ensure lights are off and doors and windows are closed.</li> <li>Report any matters required major repairs/cleanup to the Business Manager.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Business Manager.</li> </ul> </div> <div>Requirements of the Position<br> <ul> <li>Support of the Catholic ethos</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines</li> <li>Demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel</li> <li>Strong planning and organisation skills</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to maintain the quality of assigned work</li> </ul> <p>It is essential that you&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Have demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team</li> <li>Have demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines</li> <li>Have demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel</li> <li>Support the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in schools</li> </ul> </div> <p>Experience and Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Does not have a trade qualification (certificate III), but has a skill level which<br>assumes and requires knowledge, training or experience relevant to the duties to<br>be performed.</li> </ul> <p><strong>The Organisation<br><br></strong>Catholic Education within the Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment in its primary and secondary schools and for early learning and out of school hours care centres in western Sydney.
