A career opportunity as a Creative Arts Specialist is available for commencement in 2020. The Creative Arts Specialist reports to the Head of Primary and works collaboratively with the Dean of Studies Primary to deliver an outstanding Creative Arts programme to P-2 students within the school. This role involves close liaison with Primary Visual Arts and Performing Arts teaching staff. This position will hold teaching responsibilities of 0.7 for Art and Music and 0.3 for covering Head of Year release.

<p><b>Teaching Allocation </b><br /><b></b></p><p>This position will hold teaching responsibilities of 0.7 for Art and Music and 0.3 for covering Head of Year release. </p><p><b> </b><b>Essential Criteria: </b></p><p>• Tertiary qualifications appropriate to the specialisation of music teaching. </p><p>• Experienced and successful Primary Music teacher. </p><p>• Ability to teach Visual Arts. </p><p>• Experience in and understanding of early childhood development. </p><p>• Demonstrated willingness and ability to work effectively as part of a team. </p><p>• Excellent interpersonal skills – knowing how to plan, make decisions and interact effectively with professional colleagues, participate in curriculum development, engage in professional reading and actively seek new classroom pedagogies. </p><p>• Demonstrated ability to create highly engaged music and visual arts experiences based on individual needs and experience in evaluating such programmes. </p><p>• Highly developed ICT skills. </p><p>• Willingness to commit to extra-curricular activities. </p><p> <b>Responsibilities: </b></p><p>The Creative Arts teacher will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: </p><p>• Demonstrating commitment to student wellbeing. </p><p>• Planning, implementation and teaching of the Music and Visual Arts programme for the primary years (P-2). </p><p>• Using a wide range of innovative teaching strategies including the use of technologies to cater for individual differences and learning styles. </p><p>• Promoting and celebrating Primary music and visual arts through school displays and exhibitions. </p><p>• Behaving ethically, reflecting positivity, demonstrating a growth mindset and contributes to the school’s ethos and community life. </p><p>• Teaching duties as directed by the Head of Primary. </p><p>• Any other duties as may be required by the Head of School. </p><p><b> </b></p><p><b> </b></p><p><b><br /></b></p><p> </p><p><br /></p>
