<p><b>Family Support Worker </b></p><p>St Lucy&#39;s School is a Catholic school in the Dominican tradition for students with disabilities. We provide excellence in education that empowers students with the values, knowledge, attitudes and skills to flourish and participate fully in society. </p><p><b>The Position </b></p><p>St Lucy&#39;s has a warm, welcoming, community focus an opportunity now exists for a Family Support Worker, to be apart of our motivated and passionate team. The position collaborates closely with students, families and staff to advise, advocate and provide information to enable students and their families to make informed decisions and to support them in gaining access to and navigate systems and services. </p><p>The role is a fixed term contract position of three (3) years as it is dependent on grant funding, 38 hour per week position (Monday to Friday), working term time plus 25 days during school holidays. </p><p><b>To apply for this position, you must possess the following: </b></p><p>• Tertiary qualifications or Certificate IV in Social Sciences, Social Work, Community Services, Disability or a related field </p><p>• 3 years or more experience working with children and their families </p><p>• An understanding of the potential needs of people with a disability, their families and carers, including those students with complex needs </p><p>• Demonstrated understanding of person-centred planning </p><p>• Demonstrated ability to provide strength-based support to assist families and children </p><p>• Demonstrated experience of working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team </p><p>• Understanding of safe work practices and management of risk </p><p>• Demonstrated knowledge of the impact of trauma on development and supporting people who have experienced trauma </p><p>• Knowledge of housing, domestic violence, child protection, child/youth development and custody issues, mental health (non-clinical) and working with parents and carers </p><p>• Counselling skills and experience </p><p>• Current Australian Driver&#39;s Licence and current and verified Working with Children Check </p><p>• First Aid qualifications </p><p>• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word </p><p>• Honest, reliable and high standard of integrity </p><p>• Punctual and sound time-management skills </p><p>Please email nicolef&#64;stlucys.nsw.edu.au for a position description to be emailed to you. </p><p><b>Applications close: Sunday 28th April 2019 </b></p><p>Please visit https://www.stlucys.nsw.edu.au/wp/wp-content/uploads/Employment-Application-Form-Admin-Positions-2018.pdfto download our Employment Application Form which must be completed and provided with a complete CV and an accompanying letter explaining your suitability for the role and current WWC number emailed to nicolef&#64;stlucys.nsw.edu.au and addressed to: </p><p>David Raphael </p><p>Principal </p><p>St Lucy&#39;s School </p><p><br /></p>
