<p><b>About us </b></p><p><b><br /></b>The Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart is a religious Congregation established by Saint Mary MacKillop and Father Julian Tenison Woods in 1866.  With a foundation in education, the Sisters of Saint Joseph continue to operate and support ministries around Australia and internationally to respond to the needs of the communities in which they live. The Josephite Mission and History Centre is one such ministry.  </p><p><b>About the role </b></p><p>This is a part-time fixed term position for an initial period of two years teaching class groups, developing and implementing programs and activities for students and professional development for teachers. You will also be required to represent the Centre by developing and maintaining professional networks and associations.  Flexibility in the days and hours to be worked can be negotiated. The commencement for this role is Term 3, 22nd July 2019 or earlier by negotiation. </p><p>For further information about the Centre, please refer to www.josephitemissionandhistorycentre.org.au.  </p><p>This newly created role is an excellent opportunity to apply teaching skills in different  contexts, as well as developing new skills in an alternative environment.  </p><p>Responsibilities include:  </p><ul><li>Teaching of class groups K to Year 12 in a variety of contexts. </li><li>Developing, implementing and evaluating programs and activities for students based on current curriculum initiatives in Religious Education and the priorities of the Josephite Mission and History Centre. </li><li>Developing, implementing and evaluating professional development activities for teachers and providing pre-service training for student teachers. </li><li>Developing curriculum resource materials for students, teachers and schools including printed and multimedia education resources and kits. </li><li>Arranging appropriate professional development/learning opportunities for teachers and community members appropriate to the priorities of the Josephite Mission and History  Centre. </li><li>Initiating and maintaining professional networks and associations with education  stakeholders and promoting network and partnerships arrangements. </li><li>Undertaking project management and administrative tasks related to the key responsibilities of the position  </li><li>Representing the Josephite Mission and History Centre staff group at meetings, conferences and in-services. </li><li>Reporting on statistical data regarding participation of schools in programs offered by the Josephite Mission and History Centre. <br /></li></ul><p><b>About you </b></p><p>We are looking for a qualified Education Officer with a passion for teaching and Religious Education. As a minimum, to be successful in this role you will need: </p><p>Tertiary qualifications in Education with wide experience in teaching and curriculum development in Catholic Schools or other relevant settings </p><ul><li>Accreditation to teach Religious Education </li><li>Current registration with the Teachers Registration  Board of Tasmania </li><li>Demonstrated intermediate skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint </li><li>Valid Working with Vulnerable People (Tasmania) check </li><li>Willingness to undertake a National Criminal History Check  </li><li>A postgraduate qualification in Religious Education would be desirable  </li></ul><p> </p><p><br /></p>
