<p><b>About the business </b></p><p>The Catholic Schools Office is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced person to assist in the management of the workers compensation and management of employees with non-work related injuries or long term illness portfolios. As a member of the Employee Wellbeing and Safety Team, the Injury Management Officer will play a significant role in ensuring a quality service is provided to the Catholic Schools Office and all schools within the Diocese of Broken Bay that promotes a safe and effective return to work for injured or ill employees. This position will also support the Employee Wellbeing and WHS function within the team.The position is a 12 month contract part time 3 days per week position (maternity leave conditions). </p><p><b>Key Accountabilities </b></p><p>The key accountabilities of this role entail the implementation of best practice injury management activities within the CSO – Diocese of Broken Bay to ensure the safe and effective return to work of employees following work related injury and illness in accordance with the Workers Compensation Act 1987 and Workplace Injury Management and Compensation Act 1998, as well to assist leadership to manage employees with long term illness or non-work related injuries that may be impacting on the ability to maintain their normal duties. </p><ul><li>Assess incident/injury notifications for RTW and WHS intervention </li><li>Notify and consult with the Workers Compensation Insurer to promote effective claims management services including the completion and monitoring of Workers Compensation Benefits and Wage Reimbursement Schedules </li><li>Develop, implement and monitor RTW plans through liaison with injured employees, relevant CSO and School Leadership, nominated treating doctors and other relevant parties </li><li>Monitor injured employees progress in treatment, rehabilitation services and return to work plans throughout with the WC claim or the duration of the injury/illness. </li><li>Provide timely statistical information and workers compensation/injury management reports </li><li>Provide advice to leadership on how to best manage ill and injured employees </li><li>Complete TSC or TPD employer reports where required for employees accessing income protection </li><li>Provide worksite assessments, training and education to staff on ergonomics and manual handling </li></ul><p><b>Essential Criteria </b></p><p>The above position requires a successful applicant with: </p><ul><li>Current NSW Drivers Licence </li><li>Relevant tertiary qualifications in Allied Health </li><li>Minimum 5 years&#39; experience in a RTW related role </li><li>WorkCover Return to Work Coordinator Certificate </li><li>Sound knowledge of Workers Compensation and Injury Management Legislation </li><li>Highly developed written skills including report writing skills </li><li>Sound record keeping practices to ensure accountability, transparency and confidentiality </li><li>Highly developed oral communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Excellent administrative skills in accuracy and attention to detail </li><li>Highly developed computer skills </li><li>Preparedness to work within the ethos of a Catholic School setting </li></ul><p>For an application package please email hr&#64;dbb.catholic.edu.au. </p><p>Please provide a cover letter, indicating how your experience and qualifications enable you to demonstrate the specified criteria for this position and a resume. </p><p><b>Closing Date: 4 April 2019</b></p>
