<p>Applications are invited for a suitably qualified Bus Driver/General Assistant to work with the St Joseph Trades Skills Centre one day per week for a total of 16 hours per fortnight (Monday 11.30am - 7.30pm).<br /></p><p>The Trades Skills Centre Assistant / bus driver is responsible for the transportation of students from our partner schools to and from the centre. They are also required to keep the Trades Skills Centre clean, tidy and ready for use. The overall maintenance and monitoring of equipment and stores and support for trainer’s is essential in this role.</p><p><br /></p><p>Role Accountabilities:</p><ul><li> Driving the St Joseph mini-bus to pick up students and drop off students at our partner schools </li><li>Keeping the Trades Skills Centre clean, tidy and ready for use.<br /></li><li>Communicating effectively with the Head of Trade Training and other vocational training staff. </li><li>Implementing a scheduled maintenance program for equipment, tools and machinery. </li><li>Requisitioning or arranging (unscheduled) repairs of machinery, tools and equipment as needed. </li><li>In consultation with Head of Trade training, monitoring and ensure all Work, Health and safety measures are in place. </li><li>Accepting delivery of goods. </li><li>Travelling to purchase goods as required. </li><li>Monitoring and replenishing stock levels.</li><li> Arranging and maintaining organised storage of tools, equipment and consumables.</li><li>Assisting and supporting trainers during training sessions. </li><li>Completing a six monthly stock take. </li><li>Keeping the grounds clean and tidy and empty bins as needed. </li><li>Seting and monitoring watering system and water plants as needed </li><li>Preparing teaching resources for trainers through consultation with Head of Trade Training. </li><li>Participation in ‘improvement work’ as required. </li><li>Assisting with additional training or promotional days. </li><li>Completion of other tasks as requested by the Head of Trade Training. </li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Criteria:</p><ul><li>Working with Children Check Clearance to be obtained prior to commencement in paid employment. </li><li>Support of the Catholic ethos. </li><li>A current LR Driver’s Licence. </li><li>A level of proficiency in a range of maintenance activities associated with trade training. </li><li>Trade qualifications are not a pre-requisite, however exposure to carpentry, automotive or electrotechnology industries would be an advantage. </li><li>Strong communication and organisational skills. </li><li>Computer literacy with Microsoft Office, especially word and excel. </li><li>Be physically fit as some lifting is required. </li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b>Applicants must have a valid LR license to be considered for this position.</b><br /></p>
