Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced and motivated persons to fulfill the role of part-time School Counsellor within our school. This position is part of our wellbeing team supplementing the work of our current School Counsellor.

<p>The role of the School Counsellor is to assist in meeting the needs of students, families and staff in ways which will enhance the wellbeing and development of the School community. In order to achieve this, the School Counsellor will work closely with those in key roles of Pastoral Care and Learning Support; Deputy Principal, Heads of School, Welfare Coordinators, Year Advisers and Learning Support Coordinators. This position reports to the Principal via the Deputy Principal. </p><p><b>The successful applicant needs to: </b></p><p> </p><p>1. be an Evangelical/Protestant Christian who is active in their own church and wholeheartedly subscribes to the School’s Educational Creed as found on our website www.tyndale.edu.au under Our School, Educational Creed. </p><p>2. have a minimum of diploma level qualifications in counselling or pastoral care </p><p>3. have previous counselling or pastoral experience </p><p>4. have a warm, friendly and professional manner that is able to engage students and staff and set them at ease, particularly when discussing difficult matters. </p><p>5. be able to maintain confidential counselling records and abide by privacy legislation whilst at the same time keeping the Principal and Deputy Principal informed about student and staff matters. </p><p>6. be willing to engage in regular professional development and participate in school counsellor network meetings </p><p>7. have a can-do attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team </p><p> </p><p><br /></p><p>Depending on the level of qualifications, this position is classified under the NSW Christian Schools General Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement as a Wellbeing Services Grade 2a or 2b position. This is a “Term Time” only position and does not work in school holiday periods. </p><p> </p><p>The anticipated commencement date would be in Term 1, 2019. </p><p> </p><p>Tyndale Christian School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
