Work as a key member of our team in the delivery of student learning support services and our continuing work in trauma-informed positive education.

<p><b>Are you compassionate, patient and determined to help those who may have been left behind or who face lots of challenges?</b><br /><br /><b>Do you have qualifications in Education Support or previous experience in a learning support role?  Additional skills in youth work or community services an advantage.</b><br /><br />Alesco Illawarra is an independent, non-traditional secondary school for Years 9-12, registered and accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority. Our campuses are located in Wollongong, Lake Illawarra, Nowra, Vincentia and Bowral.<br /><br />Our learning environments are for young people who are ready to take responsibility for themselves, their learning and their future, in a safe and supportive environment for change and growth. Staff and students are all on a journey together and we work hard to make sure nobody gets left behind.<br /><br />We are currently recruiting for two part-time Student Learning Support Officer positions:<br /><br />    <b>Lake South Campus - 20 hours per week<br />    Nowra Campus - 31 hours per week</b><br /><br />The Student Learning Support Officers contribute to the educational outcomes of students by supporting students with learning difficulties, social-emotional challenges and cultural/linguistic barriers in their learning and assisting teachers in the classroom.<br /><br />Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.<br /><br />Applicants must obtain an information package and address the selection criteria in the position description.
