<p>St Dominic’s College, Penrith is a Catholic school in the Blessed Edmund Rice tradition conducted by Edmund Rice Education Australia. Founded by the Christian Brothers in 1959, the College has a current enrolment of 1050 boys, Years 7 – 12.  <br /></p><p> The mission of St Dominic&#39;s College is to create a caring environment where excellence in Education is evident within the Catholic tradition and the Spirit of Edmund Rice. </p><p><br /></p><p>The College is looking to appoint a highly motivated, suitably qualified teacher beginning Term 1, 2019. </p><p> </p><p>The role involves face-to-face teaching Visual Arts and TAS. </p><p> </p><p>The successful applicant will be committed to the advancement of student learning and; </p><p>• Must have a strong commitment and/or appreciation of Catholic values, morals and faith. </p><p>• Will be able to provide students with a positive learning environment, utilising strong communication and inter-personal skills. </p><p>• Will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the unique pastoral needs of young men. </p><p>• Must have a strong work ethic and a commitment to ongoing professional development. </p><p> </p><p><b>Highly desirable criteria: </b></p><p><b> </b></p><p>• Demonstrated ability and knowledge of the values of Catholic education. </p><p>• The ability to teach Visual Arts, Photography and Digital Media, Visual Design with the skills and capacity in leading learning within these domains. </p><p>• A comprehensive understanding of 21st Century pedagogy including relevant technologies: such as; Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Illustrator. </p><p>• The ability to plan, develop and implement innovative teaching programs and units of work that address boys’ educational needs. </p><p>• The ability to teach Photography, Digital Media, and Visual Design, with the skills and capacity in leading learning within these domains. </p><p>• The ability to teach Stage 4 Technology Mandatory, with the skills and capacity in leading learning within this domain. </p><p>• High ICT skillset within a contemporary blended learning environment. </p><p>• Well-developed interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff and students in enhancing the quality of learning and development of young minds. </p><p>• Be actively involved in, and supportive of, College extra-curricular activities. </p><p> </p><p>Applicants are encouraged to visit the College website www.stdominics.nsw.edu.au for further information about the College.
